About the Role

We are seeking an accomplished Director – Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) to lead reliability engineering, operational excellence, and infrastructure resilience across multiple SaaS products.

This is a senior leadership opportunity for an experienced technology leader who combines deep software engineering expertise with strategic SRE leadership, cloud infrastructure knowledge, and a strong track record of improving the reliability and performance of large‑scale, distributed SaaS platforms.

The ideal candidate will bring substantial experience from product‑based SaaS organizations, with the ability to establish reliability standards, drive engineering best practices, influence senior stakeholders, and build scalable operational frameworks for high‑growth cloud platforms.

Important: Candidates must have experience working in product‑based SaaS companies. Candidates from service‑based IT companies are strictly not eligible for this position.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead reliability engineering strategy and programs across multiple SaaS products.
• Establish and improve Service Level Indicators (SLIs), Service Level Objectives (SLOs), service monitoring, and reliability metrics.
• Drive observability, monitoring, alerting, incident management, root‑cause analysis, and preventive actions.
• Oversee CI/CD practices and engineering processes that improve deployment reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency.
• Leverage software engineering principles to address complex reliability and operational challenges.
• Architect and evolve cloud applications and infrastructure to support high‑growth platforms and large‑scale distributed systems.
• Drive AWS cloud infrastructure excellence and container orchestration capabilities.
• Establish operational KPIs and metrics to measure system availability, performance, incident trends, and service reliability.
• Partner with engineering, product, infrastructure, and technology leadership teams to improve platform resilience and operational maturity.
• Influence technical direction and reliability standards across teams, peers, and senior leadership.
• Build a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, automation, and operational excellence.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 18+ years of experience in Software Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or Reliability Engineering.
• At least 5 years of experience in leadership roles, preferably at the Director level.
• Strong experience in product‑based SaaS companies, preferably within B2B or enterprise SaaS environments.
• Proven experience leading reliability initiatives across multiple SaaS products.
• Deep understanding of SLIs, SLOs, monitoring, observability, and reliability engineering practices.
• Strong expertise in CI/CD, incident response, root‑cause analysis, and production operations.
• Strong AWS cloud knowledge and hands‑on or architectural experience with container orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes, Amazon EKS, or Amazon ECS.
• Experience designing and scaling cloud‑native applications and infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, high availability, scalability, and fault tolerance.
• Demonstrated ability to drive operational excellence through measurable KPIs and reliability metrics.
• Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills.

Mandatory Industry Background

• Experience in product‑based SaaS organizations is mandatory.
• Strong preference for B2B SaaS and enterprise SaaS environments.
• Proven experience supporting large‑scale, distributed, cloud‑based products.
• Candidates from service‑based IT companies are strictly not eligible for this position.
