This is an exciting opportunity for a Director, Professional Services – Data Intelligence at Ivalua. As a "Magic Quadrant" leader, our solutions work in a complex global economy, automating customized workflows to request, procure, receive, and pay for goods and services. Our innovative solutions refine the procurement lifecycle while reducing cost and risk.
We are seeking a highly technical, experienced, and detail-oriented Director to lead the successful architectural design and technical delivery of our data-driven implementation projects. The ideal candidate is a strong technical leader with an architectural background and a proven track record of managing complex data streams, enforcing engineering governance, and driving process excellence across a portfolio of implementations. You will be responsible for ensuring technical consistency, mitigating data risks, and delivering highly scalable data solutions on time and on budget.
Technical Architecture, Complex Design & Innovation
- Standardization: Establish and enforce robust architectural standards, code quality metrics, and technical deployment best practices across the core data pillars: Interfaces, Power BI, and Spend Management.
- Complex Design & Escalations: Serve as the ultimate escalation point for complex architectural designs, resolving highly technical data bottlenecks and performance issues across your portfolio.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work hand in hand with the internal Functional and Engineering teams within Professional Services to ensure seamless integration between business workflows and technical data architecture.
- AI Acceleration: Actively leverage artificial intelligence (AI) and automated tools to accelerate data mapping, and implementation cycles, driving faster time-to-value for clients.
Leadership, Team Management & Growth
- Scale & Grow the Team: Manage, and scale up a world-class, high-performing technical team in Pune. Grow team members from individual contributors into technical leaders.
- Culture & Mentorship: Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and continuous learning culture, providing deep technical and functional mentorship across Interface, BI, and Spend implementation tracks.
- Governance & Alignment: Report directly to the VP of Professional Services and Innovation Success, ensuring the regional delivery model aligns perfectly with Ivalua's global standards.
Partner Enablement & Customer Governance
- Partner Support & Advisory: Actively support, enable, and guide our global Partner ecosystem (systems integrators and consultancies), providing them with technical best practices, solution design reviews, and expert advisory to ensure their delivery success.
- Executive Technical Governance: Serve as the primary technical point of contact for executive-level customer stakeholders (CIOs, CTOs) and provide technical oversight for partner-led implementations to ensure alignment with Ivalua quality standards.
- Smooth Transitions: Ensure a smooth data transition, rigorous data validation, and environment hand-off from project go-live to post-production support.
Financials & KPI Management
- KPI Metrics Management: Drive and monitor key Professional Services metrics (e.g., project profitability, technical resource utilization, delivery quality) to directly contribute to global Company KPIs like ARR (Annual Recurring Revenue) and gross margins.
YOUR PROFILE
Skills and Experience
Below experience and strengths are required for this role:
Required Skills
- At least 10+ years of experience in technical architecture, web-based software development, or technical professional services delivery.
- At least 5+ years of direct people management experience, with a proven history of growing, scaling up, and developing highly technical engineering or delivery teams.
- Strong hands-on coding and technical background, with deep familiarity in ETL, EAI, and Business Intelligence tools.
- Advanced database expertise, with at least 10 years of experience in SQL Server, writing complex queries, and data optimization.
- Proven integration experience building connections via SOAP and REST APIs, data transfer protocols (SFTP, FTPS, AS2), and data standards (CSV, XML, EDI, cXML).
- Deep technical capability in enterprise reporting and data visualization, specifically utilizing Power BI and MDX or DAX.
- Broad knowledge of enterprise-level commercially available hardware and software products, operating systems, and methodologies for integrating web-based products.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and negotiation skills, with the ability to manage critical technical escalations, support partners, and influence C-level stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on data-driven decision-making and architectural integrity.
- A Bachelor's (BS) degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related technical field or foreign equivalent is required.
- Some travel may be necessary (~20%)
Preferred Skills
- Experience supporting, training, or governing third-party Systems Integrators (SIs) and implementation partners.
- Exposure to or practical experience in utilizing AI/ML tools to optimize data migration, ETL automation, or predictive analytics.
- Domain expertise in the procurement industry, Source-to-Pay (S2P) processes, or Spend Management data loading.
- Relevant technical or enterprise architecture certifications.
