Job summary

OneMagnify is seeking a Director of Engineering for Delivery Leadership in Chennai to drive delivery excellence across our software engineering teams. You will lead Engineering Managers and Senior Engineering Managers, shaping processes and performance to deliver high-quality client solutions.

Qualifications

• 12+ years in software engineering with 5+ years in engineering leadership.
• Proven track record delivering complex client-facing software.
• Strong Agile/Scrum, CI/CD, TDD and DevOps practices.
• Hands-on with Java, .NET, Node.js and cloud platforms.
• Excellent communication with both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Certifications in project management (PMP or Scrum Master) preferred.

The Impact You'll Have:

The Director of Engineering for Delivery Leadership is responsible for the execution excellence of our software engineering organization. This role ensures the consistent delivery of high-quality, client-focused software solutions through effective team leadership, process optimization, and performance management. The director leads through a management layer of Engineering Managers and Senior Engineering Managers, providing strategic direction while empowering teams to deliver exceptional results.

What You'll Do:

Delivery Excellence & Quality Management Own end-to-end delivery quality across all software engineering teams in Chennai GCC, ensuring solutions meet client expectations and business objectives Establish and monitor quality metrics, KPIs, and delivery performance indicators across projects and teams Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance delivery velocity, code quality, and team productivity Implement and evolve engineering best practices, development standards, and quality assurance processes collaborating with Director of Engineering - US. Establish processes and governance to ensure applications remain current with security patches, framework updates, and technology standards Leadership Through Management Lead, develop, and mentor Engineering Managers and Senior Engineering Managers in Chennai to build high-performing teams Conduct regular performance reviews, one-on-ones, and career development planning with direct reports Provide coaching on technical leadership, people management, and delivery execution challenges for Chennai Channel Solutions technology team Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous learning across engineering teams Maintain flexibility to manage individual contributors directly when needed for specific initiatives or organizational requirements Strategic Planning & Practice Development in collaboration with Collaborate with Director of Engineering - US: Develop and execute the engineering organization's strategic roadmap in alignment with business goals Evaluate and champion adoption of emerging technologies, tools, and methodologies to improve delivery capabilities Partner with Solution Architecture to ensure seamless translation of technical designs into executable delivery plans Build and maintain engineering practices that support scalability, maintainability, and technical excellence Maintain agency to adjust strategic versus delivery focus based on organizational priorities and team needs Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with Solution Architecture, Product, and Data Engineering directors to ensure integrated delivery Collaborate with DevOps and Security teams to maintain robust, secure, and well-monitored applications Work with Product Owners and stakeholders to align technical execution with client needs and business priorities Provide transparency to senior leadership through regular updates on team performance, project status, and strategic initiatives Resource Management & Capacity Planning Collaborate with Director of Engineering - US, EPMO and program leadership to manage engineering capacity and resource allocation across multiple projects and client engagements Work with Director of Engineering - US, EPMO to identify staffing needs and support recruitment of engineering talent Partner with Director of Engineering - US, , EPMO and program leadership to monitor team utilization, costs, and budget while maintaining sustainable work practices Documentation & Knowledge Management Establish standards for technical documentation and ensure comprehensive documentation practices Maintain accurate application catalogs and architectural documentation repositories Promote knowledge sharing and documentation of lessons learned across teams

What You'll Need:

12+ years of experience in software engineering with at least 5+ years in engineering management or leadership roles Proven track record of delivering complex, high-quality software solutions in client-facing environments Deep understanding of software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum), modern development practices (CI/CD, TDD), and DevOps principles Strong technical background with hands-on experience in modern technology stacks (Java, .NET, Node.js, cloud platforms) Demonstrated success in building, developing, and scaling high-performing engineering teams Exceptional communication skills with ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences Experience with quality metrics, performance management systems, and delivery tracking tools Strategic thinker with strong execution capabilities and ability to balance competing priorities Self-directed leader with excellent judgment and ability to adjust approach based on organizational needs Certifications in project management (PMP, Scrum Master) or relevant technologies are preferred but not required

Future-Ready Skills (Nice to Have):

Experience in integrated marketing, digital agency, marketing services, or consulting environments preferred.
