The role leads multiple concurrent validation and control reviews to assess whether remediation addresses root causes, controls are designed and operating effectively, and risk outcomes are sustainable. The individual partners with business and technology leaders identify emerging risks, shape risk strategies and remediation priorities, and strengthen risk and control inventories. The role assists with risk and control governance forums, develops meaningful metrics and executive reporting, communicates risk themes and issue status to senior management, and escalates matters requiring timely decisions or intervention. The role also coordinates regulatory assessments and responses, client reviews, and SOC/SOX activities, supports the Privacy team as needed, and provides leadership, coaching, and quality oversight to ensure work is completed in accordance with department and industry standards.

What You Can Expect

The Director, Issue Validation Testing and Advisory, leads the planning and execution of issue validation and control testing to confirm remediation addresses root causes and delivers sustainable outcomes. The role, as a risk advisor, partners with business and technology leaders to identify and assess emerging risks, shape risk strategies, clarify risk acceptance decisions, and align remediation priorities with enterprise standards and business objectives. The role strengthens the control environment by advising on control design, evaluating design and operating effectiveness, maintaining accurate risk and control inventories, identifying thematic gaps and trends, and driving clear ownership, monitoring, and timely remediation. It coordinates regulatory assessments and responses, client reviews, and SOC/SOX activities across Global Technology and Operations, and supports the Privacy team with privacy‑related risk assessments, incident response, data mapping, and privacy‑by‑design activities.

  • Lead issue validation and testing engagements to confirm that root causes are addressed and remediation is sustainable.
  • Plan and schedule validation reviews for open issues, prioritizing work based on risk, target closure dates, and validation readiness.
  • Coordinate validation activities with issue owners, control design functions, First Line management, and Audit to confirm scope, evidence requirements, dependencies, and review timelines.
  • Assess remediation evidence and control implementation to determine whether corrective actions address root causes and operate as intended.
  • Track validation progress, resolve evidence gaps, and elevate delays or risks that could affect timely issue closure.
  • Partner with business and technology leaders to assess technology, cyber, data, resilience, and third‑party risks; shape risk strategies; and align risk acceptance and remediation decisions with enterprise standards and business objectives.
  • Lead risk assessments, maintain accurate process, risk, control, and issue inventories, and analyze trends and control gaps to strengthen control design, monitoring, remediation, governance, and reporting.
  • Coordinate responses to risk events and emerging issues with business, Technology, Legal, Compliance, and control partners; provide executive reporting and escalation; facilitate root‑cause and after‑action reviews; and track corrective actions through sustainable resolution.
  • Remain current on industry developments in cybersecurity, cloud, DevOps, information security, third‑party risk management, and resilience.
  • Lead and execute engagements that meet the department’s methodologies and quality standards.
  • Invest in professional development, educate others on key risks and controls, and support staff development, recruiting, performance management, and succession planning.
  • Leverage data analytics and develop review programs to support risk assessments, review design, and testing of key GTO risks.
  • Guide the team on continuous monitoring, year‑over‑year review coverage, aggregation of key issues for senior leadership, and stakeholder governance meetings.
  • Support the Privacy team, as needed, with incident response and escalation, awareness activities, Privacy Impact Assessments, data mapping, and privacy‑by‑design engagement with Technology Product Owners.
  • Lead and support regulatory gap assessments and responses, SOC/SOX activities, and client assessments in partnership with Technology, business, Legal, Compliance, and Audit stakeholders.
What You Will Bring
  • 8+ years of relevant experience gained through a combination of information security/technology, risk and/or audit related roles, including leading complex engagements and managing multiple concurrent deliverables.
