Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a senior leader to oversee offshore Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) and clinical audit operations. You will drive DRG validation, high-risk diagnosis validation, and governance aligned with ACDIS, AHIMA, CMS, and payer guidance.

The role requires building scalable offshore delivery models, mentoring senior teams, and delivering dashboards for onshore leadership. The ideal candidate has 8+ years in CDI/clinical auditing with 3+ years in a senior leadership role, and

Qualifications

• RN/MBBS/MD or equivalent clinical credential
• 8+ years in CDI, clinical auditing, DRG validation, or revenue integrity
• 3+ years in a senior leadership role (Senior Manager/Director)
• Strong DRG and clinical validation expertise
• Expertise in SOI/ROM and ICD-10-CM/PCS guidelines
• Experience leading offshore teams and governance implementations

• Lead offshore CDI and clinical audit operations, ensuring regulatory compliance
• Develop scalable offshore operating models aligned with U.S. standards

• Drive quality, productivity, and audit consistency
• Oversee validation of high-risk diagnoses (sepsis, AKI, etc.)
• Mentor leadership to build long-term delivery capability

Job description

• Lead offshore Clinical Audit and CDI operations, including DRG validation and clinical validation programs
• Develop and implement scalable offshore operating models aligned with U.S. regulatory and payer standards
• Establish governance, policies, and standard operating procedures consistent with ACDIS, AHIMA, CMS, and payer guidance
• Drive continuous improvement in quality, productivity, and audit consistency
• Oversee validation of high-risk diagnoses, including sepsis, AKI, acute respiratory failure, encephalopathy, and malnutrition
• Ensure audit determinations are clinically valid, compliant, and defensible
• Monitor and address over-coding and under-coding risks
• Serve as the final escalation point for complex clinical validation issues
• Lead large offshore teams of clinical auditors, CDI specialists, managers, and supervisors
• Support hiring, onboarding, training, and ongoing competency development
• Maintain audit calibration, quality assurance, and peer review processes
• Mentor leadership team members to build long-term delivery capability
• Partner with U.S. onshore directors, VPs, and client leadership
• Support onboarding and expansion of new client programs
• Participate in executive-level discussions regarding audit outcomes, trends, and performance
• Ensure offshore delivery aligns with client-specific workflows and expectations
• Ensure compliance with ICD-10-CM/PCS guidelines, Coding Clinic, and DRG logic
• Monitor KPIs for audit accuracy, productivity, turnaround time, SOI/ROM impact, and financial and denial-prevention outcomes
• Deliver structured reporting and dashboards to onshore leadership

Requirements

• Required clinical or coding credential: RN/MBBS/MD, CCS/CPC/RHIA/RHIT
• 8+ years of experience in CDI, clinical auditing, DRG validation, or revenue integrity
• 3+ years in a senior leadership role such as Senior Manager, Associate Director, or Director
• Strong expertise in DRG validation and clinical validation
• Strong expertise in SOI/ROM
• Strong expertise in ICD-10-CM/PCS and Official Coding Guidelines
• Strong expertise in payer audit and denial trends
• Demonstrated experience leading offshore teams
• Ability to work at a computer terminal for 6–8 hours per day
• Ability to function in an environment with constant interruptions
• Ability to sit for prolonged periods
• Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 20 lbs. infrequently
