Job summary

Raytekk is seeking a Diploma Engineer Trainee (DET) to support Manufacturing Engineering and NPI activities in Coimbatore. The role focuses on improving processes, productivity, quality, safety, and cost through process engineering, tooling, and continuous improvement.

You will assist in design and maintenance of jigs and fixtures, support ECN updates, prepare SOPs and PFMEA, and participate in lean and Kaizen initiatives while working in shifts with shop-floor teams.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Mechanical/Automobile or related field with hands-on knowledge.
• Reading engineering drawings and GD&T basics are essential.
• Exposure to PFMEA, Control Plans, ECN processes, and tooling design.

Responsibilities

• Support assembly and fabrication process improvement and layout optimization.
• Assist design, development, validation and maintenance of jigs and tools.
• Support ECN implementation and updates to drawings, BOMs and SOPs.
• Prepare SOPs, PFMEA, Control Plans and other process documentation.
• Participate in NPI, DFM/DFA and manufacturability improvement activities.
• Coordinate with tool rooms and vendors for tooling development and trials.
• Support Lean, Kaizen, 5S and productivity initiatives.

Role Overview

We are looking for a Diploma Engineer Trainee (DET) to support Manufacturing Engineering and New Product Introduction (NPI) activities. The role focuses on improving manufacturing processes, productivity, quality, safety, and cost through process engineering, tooling, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Support assembly and fabrication process improvement, including cutting, bending, welding, cycle time, and workstation layout optimization.
• Assist in the design, development, validation, and maintenance of jigs, fixtures, and production tools.
• Support Engineering Change Notice (ECN) implementation and updates to drawings, BOMs, routing, and SOPs.
• Prepare and maintain SOPs, PFMEA, Control Plans, and other process documentation.
• Participate in NPI, DFM/DFA, virtual builds, pilot trials, and manufacturability improvement activities.
• Coordinate with tool rooms, vendors, and cross-functional teams for tooling development and trials.
• Support Lean, WCM, 5S, Kaizen, root-cause analysis, and productivity improvement initiatives.

Required Technical Skills

• Basic knowledge of manufacturing and process engineering.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and understand GD&T.
• Basic knowledge of DFM/DFA, PFMEA, Control Plans, and ECN processes.
• Exposure to AutoCAD, SolidWorks, tooling and fixture design, and Time & Motion Study.
• Understanding of Lean/WCM and root-cause analysis tools such as 5-Why and Fishbone.
• Proficiency in MS Office; SAP/ERP knowledge is an advantage.

Candidate Profile

• Diploma in Mechanical, Automobile, Mechatronics, Production, or Tool & Die Engineering.
• 0 - 3 year of experience; freshers with relevant technical knowledge are welcome.
• Automotive or engineering manufacturing exposure is preferred.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to work closely with shop-floor teams and in shifts as required.
• Tamil and English communication skills are mandatory; Hindi is an added advantage.
