Job summary

Steel Strips Wheels is seeking an senior IT/OT leader to drive MES implementation across multiple plants in the Punjab/Chandigarh region. The role requires strong governance, vendor and SI management, and a track record of delivering end-to-end MES projects.

You will collaborate with SAP, shop-floor PLCs, and quality systems while building a long-term digital manufacturing competency team. Travel up to 30-40% is expected.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in manufacturing IT/OT.
• Minimum 2 full-cycle MES implementations.
• Experience with SAP integration and industrial protocols.

Responsibilities

• Lead MES implementation starting with one plant, then roll out across remaining 4 facilities.
• Act as single point of accountability between SSWL, MES vendor, and system integrator.
• Define project scope, timelines, milestones; manage budget and risks.
• Drive integration with SAP ERP, shop floor PLCs, quality systems, etc.
• Own change management training, SOPs, user adoption across plants.
• Establish governance model, KPIs, and reporting for program health.
• Build internal MES and digital manufacturing competency team for long-term sustainability.
• Identify and operationalize Industry 4.0 initiatives post-MES stabilization including predictive maintenance, computer vision inspection, process optimization, and digital twin readiness.
• Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies such as AI/ML, IIoT, and advanced analytics platforms.
• Continuously improve plant digital maturity and operational excellence through data-driven decision-making.

Preferred candidate profile

Experience

• Auto-ancillary, forging, casting, or machining environments preferred

Platforms

• Hands-on with at least one: Opcenter, DELMIAWorks, Plex, AVEVA, or equivalent

Integration

• SAP integration experience; familiarity with OPC-UA, PLCs, SCADA

Program Management

• Multi-site rollouts; vendor and SI management

Location

• Willing to be based in Punjab/Chandigarh region; travel 30-40%
