Job summary

Larsen & Toubro seeks an experienced IoT-enabled manufacturing specialist to drive smart factory initiatives at the Hazira Plant in Surat. You will lead machine connectivity, data capture from PLC/SCADA, and edge devices to enable real-time monitoring and data-driven improvement.

You will integrate IoT solutions with ERP, SAP, MES, SharePoint, and BI tools, while ensuring cybersecurity and governance. 5–7 years of relevant experience is expected, based at Hazira Plant.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Electronics, Instrumentation, Automation, Electrical, Mechanical, Production Engineering, or related field.
• 5–7 years experience in digital manufacturing, IoT implementation, industrial automation, IT/OT systems, Industry 4.0, or manufacturing app development.
• Hands-on exposure to IoT platforms, PLC/SCADA integration, industrial sensors, edge gateways, OPC-UA, and MQTT protocols.

Responsibilities

• Lead IoT, smart manufacturing and machine connectivity initiatives across shop-floor operations.
• Identify digitization opportunities in production, maintenance, quality, energy, safety, stores and supply chain.
• Implement digital solutions for OEE, machine utilization, downtime, predictive maintenance and energy monitoring.
• Convert shop-floor pain points into practical digital use cases with measurable business benefits.
• Integrate IoT and manufacturing apps with ERP, SAP, MES, SharePoint, Power Apps, Power BI, SQL and enterprise platforms.
• Ensure IT/OT cybersecurity, network segmentation, access control, data governance and compliance.
• Track project timelines, cost, benefits, risks, adoption, uptime, data accuracy and post-implementation performance.
• Drive adoption through demonstrations, training, SOPs, documentation and change management.

• Lead IoT, smart manufacturing, machine connectivity, sensor integration, PLC/SCADA data capture, edge devices, gateways, and real-time monitoring.

• Implement digital solutions for OEE, machine utilization, downtime, MTBF/MTBR, predictive maintenance, energy monitoring, production progress, checklists, and quality records.

Key Skills and Competencies

• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, shop-floor operations, machine data, production flow, maintenance practices, and operational KPIs.
• Knowledge of IoT architecture, sensors, controllers, gateways, industrial networks, platforms, databases, dashboards, and analytics.
• Strong communication, documentation, presentation, training, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage change and drive adoption across operators, supervisors, engineers, and management teams.
