Job summary

Medanta in Gurugram is seeking a qualified Dietitian/Nutritionist to join the Nutrition Services team. The role will provide medical nutrition therapy aligned with patient goals in a NABH/JCI accredited hospital.

You will educate patients and families, document outcomes, supervise dietetic interns, and maintain RD certification through ongoing professional development. The position is hospital-based and on-site.

Qualifications

• MSc in Food & Nutrition (Regular).
• Registered Dietitian status desirable with ongoing education.
• Experience in NABH/JCI hospital settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides nutrition services and medical nutrition therapy aligned with patient goals.
• Evaluates, interprets, monitors and documents nutritional status using guidelines.
• Delivers age-specific nutrition counseling respecting cultural needs.
• Develops, reviews and updates educational materials for patients and staff.
• Writes orders for diet, supplements, and nutrition support per policy.
• Acts as a key member of the clinical interdisciplinary team.
• Maintains RD status including continuing professional education.
• Precepts dietetic interns and trains new staff on the job.
• Supervises dietetic technicians and contributes to evaluations.
• Ensures compliance with Nutrition Services meeting/attendance standards.

Role & responsibilities

• Provides nutrition services and medical nutrition therapy integrated with the patient's medical goals.
• Evaluates, interprets, monitors and documents the nutritional status and nutritional needs of hospitalized patients and out patients using established standards of care and practice guidelines.
• Identifies and provides age-specific nutrition counseling to meet the cultural needs of the patients and their families.
• Develops, reviews, updates and implements educational materials to meet the needs of patients and professionals.
• Writes order for diet, supplement, enteral/ parenteral nutrition and laboratory data as per hospital policy.
• Functions as an integral member of the clinical interdisciplinary team.
• Maintains registered dietitian (RD) status including continuing professional education per the Professional Development Portfolio.
• Precept dietetic interns and provide on the job training for newly hired dietetic staff.
• Supervises daily work of dietetic technicians, registered; provide input into evaluation but doesn't directly evaluate their performance.
• Complies with Nutrition Services meeting and attendance standards.

Preferred candidate profile

Candidate must be M.Sc in Food & Nutrition (Regular Only)

Candidate must have experience of 3 Yrs to 6 Yrs

Candidate must have experience of NABH/JCI Hospitals.
