Job summary

Valarr.io is hiring a Manufacturing Engineer to bridge design and mass production in Bengaluru. You will assess CAD designs for manufacturability, define tolerances and collaborate with vendors to validate tooling and processes.

The role requires 2–4 years of DFM experience, proficiency in SolidWorks or AutoCAD, and hands‑on knowledge of injection moulding, sheet metal, machining or die casting. You’ll drive design changes and scale prototypes to stable production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical / Manufacturing / Production Engineering or related discipline.
• 2–4 years in DFM, manufacturing engineering or product engineering for mass‑manufactured products.
• Strong proficiency in SolidWorks (preferred) or AutoCAD.
• Solid understanding of DFM/DFA principles, GD&T, tolerance stack‑up analysis and material selection.
• Hands‑on knowledge of manufacturing processes such as injection moulding, sheet metal, machining or die casting, and their tooling.
• Experience creating engineering drawings, BOMs and manufacturing documentation.
• Comfortable working directly with vendors/suppliers and on the factory floor.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple products in parallel.

Responsibilities

• Review product and CAD designs for manufacturability, tooling feasibility, cost and ease of assembly — and drive design changes before tooling is committed.
• Own DFM and DFA analysis across the relevant processes (injection moulding, sheet metal, machining, die casting, etc.).
• Define and validate tolerances, GD&T, tolerance stack‑ups and material selection for reliable, repeatable production.
• Work with vendors and contract manufacturers on tooling, first‑article inspection, pilot runs and process validation.
• Lead the transition from prototype to mass production, resolving technical and process issues on the floor.
• Troubleshoot production problems, reduce defects, scrap and rework, and drive continuous cost and quality improvement.
• Run cost optimisation and value‑engineering initiatives without compromising quality.
• Own manufacturing documentation: engineering drawings, BOMs, control plans, inspection standards and engineering changes (ECR/ECO).
• Identify manufacturing and quality risks early and put mitigation plans in place.
