Synechron is seeking a DevOps Engineer to support, administer, and engineer enterprise DevOps tools and platforms. The role requires hands‑on experience operating production DevOps services, troubleshooting user and platform issues, automating operational activities, and enhancing CI/CD, artifact management, source control, deployment, security, and observability capabilities.The DevOps Engineer will support developers, build and release teams, infrastructure teams, security teams, and operations teams. The role contributes to business objectives by improving platform reliability, developer productivity, software delivery speed, operational consistency, security, compliance, and self‑service capabilities.
Essential Python for automation, platform administration, API integration, monitoring, and operational tooling. Bash or Shell scripting for Linux‑based automation and support. PowerShell for Windows‑based automation and administration where applicable. Groovy for Jenkins pipeline development where applicable. YAML for pipeline configuration, Kubernetes manifests, automation definitions and deployment workflows. REST APIs for integrations, provisioning, monitoring and platform administration. Ability to write reusable, maintainable, testable and documented automation code.
Preferred Experience with additional programming or scripting languages. Familiarity with Java, .NET, Node.js, or other application technologies supported by enterprise CI/CD pipelines. Experience developing reusable libraries, shared pipeline components or automation frameworks.
Essential Understanding of configuration data, platform metadata, access records, build information, artifact information, audit logs and operational metrics. Ability to manage and validate data used by DevOps tools, integrations, pipelines, and reporting systems. Understanding of data backup, retention, recovery, auditability and consistency for platform administration.
Preferred Experience integrating DevOps tools with relational or non‑relational databases. Familiarity with artifact metadata, pipeline history, platform usage data and operational reporting. Experience supporting backup validation, disaster recovery, and data‑retention processes for DevOps platforms.
Essential Working knowledge of cloud computing concepts relevant to CI/CD, infrastructure, deployment, security, scalability and monitoring. Understanding of cloud‑hosted DevOps platforms, build agents, runners, artifact repositories, and deployment environments. Ability to support automation and deployment workflows across distributed environments.
Preferred Experience with AWS, Azure or Google Cloud. Experience deploying and supporting cloud‑native DevOps platforms. Familiarity with cloud monitoring, identity and access management, networking, storage, compute and resource optimisation. Experience applying sustainable cloud practices and cost‑aware infrastructure management.
Essential Experience with Jenkins pipelines, shared libraries, GitHub Actions workflows, GitLab pipelines, Azure DevOps pipelines, Bamboo plans or comparable CI/CD frameworks. Experience with Docker and Kubernetes‑based build or deployment environments. Experience with infrastructure‑as‑code and configuration‑management concepts. 6+ years of experience in DevOps, platform engineering, release engineering, build engineering, systems administration, or a related field. Hands‑on experience supporting and engineering enterprise CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Bamboo, GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps or TeamCity. Experience with source‑control platforms such as GitHub Enterprise, GitLab, Bitbucket or Azure Repos. Experience with artifact repositories such as JFrog Artifactory, Sonatype Nexus Repository or cloud‑native package registries. Strong scripting experience using Python, Bash, PowerShell, Groovy, YAML, REST APIs or comparable technologies. Experience troubleshooting build pipelines, agents, runners, permissions, integrations, plugins, webhooks, credentials and deployment failures. Working knowledge of Linux and/or Windows server administration. Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, Git workflows, branching strategies, build automation, release management and deployment automation. Experience working with development, infrastructure, security, release and operations teams. Troubleshoot CI/CD pipeline failures, deployment issues, agent or runner problems, repository access, permissions, credentials, plugins, webhooks and platform integrations. Collaborate with development, infrastructure, security, release and operations teams to improve pipeline patterns, platform reliability, onboarding, support processes and delivery workflows. Administer and enhance DevOps tools, build reusable pipeline templates, automate operational tasks, patch platforms, monitor performance and maintain documentation. Make platform and automation decisions within approved technical and security standards, prioritise incidents and engineering work and escalates material risks or service impacts when required.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or a related field; equivalent practical experience may be considered. Demonstrated experience in DevOps, platform engineering, release engineering, build engineering, systems administration or related infrastructure roles is required. Certification in cloud, DevOps, Kubernetes, GitHub Actions, GitLab, Terraform or a related discipline is preferred but not mandatory. Relevant training in CI/CD, automation, cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, infrastructure‑as‑code, DevSecOps, security or IT service management is preferred.
