Job summary

NatWest Group is seeking a VP-level DevOps Engineer to advance our DevOps center of excellence in Bengaluru. You’ll mentor teams, define capability uplift plans and drive secure, observable pipelines across Kubernetes and AWS.

You will lead CI/CD with GitLab, implement GitOps with ArgoCD and Helm, and champion automation using Golang, Python and shell scripts to accelerate value delivery.

Qualifications

  • Experience mentoring and coaching feature and platform teams to achieve higher levels of DevOps capability.
  • Ability to assess current DevOps capability levels and identify gaps for learning workshops and training.
  • Proven ability to measure, visualize and improve value flow through DevOps practices and tooling.
  • Ability to advise teams on the most suitable DevOps uplifts based on needs and capabilities.
  • Provide feedback to improve policies, standards, practices and DevOps tooling.
  • Ensure security compliance and implement observability solutions to monitor performance and reliability.

DevOps Engineer, VP

Join us as a DevOps Engineer This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to building our DevOps engineering capability, culture and mindsets within the bank Promoting technical and cultural change, you’ll be accelerating learning journeys and the progressive adoption of our DevOps centre of excellence technical practices and techniques As you build relationships with your colleagues, you’ll be making sure that decisions are commercially focused and create long term value for the bank We're offering this role at vice president level

What you'll do

As a DevOps Engineer, you’ll be mentoring and coaching feature and platform teams to higher levels of DevOps capability to drive continuous improvements and enhance the end customer experience. You’ll assess their current levels of DevOps technical capability to identify any gaps, and support them in closing these through learning workshops and training.

  • Demonstrating how to measure, understand and visualise the flow and delivery of value through adopting DevOps tools, techniques and processes
  • Advising teams across platform and within the centre of excellence on which DevOps capability uplifts would be best suited to their needs and abilities
  • Providing feedback that builds on policies, standards, practices and associated DevOps tooling
  • Making sure security compliance and implement observability solutions such as Grafana, Prometheus and CloudWatch to proactively monitor system performance and maintain operational excellence
The skills you'll need

We’re looking for someone with experience of portfolio management support roles paired with knowledge of portfolio types. You’ll also hold an appropriate portfolio management qualification such as Prince 2, Scrum, Agile or SAFe portfolio management.

  • Experience in deploying and managing Kubernetes clusters and AWS services including the migration of microservices to AWS cloud infrastructure
  • Design, implement and optimise CI pipelines in GitLab to streamline build and test workflows
  • Implement GitOps workflows using Helm and ArgoCD to enable reliable, automated Kubernetes deployments
  • Proficiency in Golang, Python and shell scripting to develop automation tools that streamline operations and enhance efficiency
