Job summary

Innova ESI Bengaluru seeks an experienced DevOps Engineer to support developers, infrastructure, security, and operations in the retail domain. You will collaborate with engineers and product managers across the software lifecycle to deliver reliable cloud solutions.

The role focuses on Azure and private cloud platforms, implementing secure, scalable pipelines, automation, and monitoring to maximize end-user impact and product quality in a fast-paced Agile environment.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in infrastructure and cloud platforms.
  • Experience leading a DevOps team.
  • Git version control and repository management.
  • Hands-on with Azure Cloud, Azure DevOps, Azure Git, and Git workflows.
  • Strong knowledge of Kubernetes cluster builds, resource management, application security, storage/PV, load balancing.
  • Containerization and orchestration with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience provisioning and deploying PaaS and IaaS services in Azure (AD, AKS, Storage, Networking, Compute, Key Vault).
  • Ability to set up development, test, release, update, and support processes for DevOps operations.
  • Cybersecurity knowledge and experience with vulnerability tools (Snyk, Defender).
  • Monitoring with Grafana, Prometheus, or New Relic.
  • Experience with Jenkins, Maven, CI/CD pipelines.
  • Terraform and Terragrunt expertise.
  • Autoscaling and predictive scaling for microservices/VMs.
  • Linux and Windows operating systems.
  • Azure VM scale sets, networking, monitoring insights, and licensing.
  • Azure RBAC and access policy configurations.
  • Identify and clean up unused or orphaned resources in Azure.
  • Scripting in Shell, Python, or PowerShell.

Responsibilities

  • Support developers, infrastructure, security, and operations across the SDLC.
  • Collaborate with engineers and product managers throughout the software lifecycle to deliver reliable cloud solutions.
  • Ensure quality, security, reliability, and end-user impact in release delivery.
  • Lead DevOps practices and automate workflows.
  • Maintain Azure and Tesco Private Cloud (TPC) environments.

Job description

We are looking for a highly skilled DevOps Engineer to support our developers, infrastructure, security, and operations in the retail domain. You will collaborate with experienced engineers and product managers throughout the entire software development lifecycle of the products we own.

In this role, you should be comfortable working in a fast-paced Agile environment, with a strong focus on quality, security, reliability, and end‑user impact. You will be responsible for deploying and maintaining our cloud infrastructure in Azure and TPC (Tesco Private Cloud).

Must Have
Technical Skills
  • At least 7+ years of experience working in infrastructure and cloud platforms.
  • Experience leading a DevOps team from a technical standpoint.
  • Experience with version control systems like Git along with repository setup, branching strategies, and access control.
  • Hands‑on with Azure Cloud, Azure DevOps, Azure Git, and Git workflows.
  • Strong knowledge of Kubernetes cluster builds, resource management, application security, storage/PV, load balancing.
  • Hands‑on experience with containerization and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Extensive experience provisioning and deploying PaaS and IaaS services including Azure AD, AKS, Storage, Networking, Compute, Azure Key Vault, etc.
  • Ability to set up development, test, release, update, and support processes for DevOps operations.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity and experience using vulnerability assessment tools such as Snyk, Defender, etc.
  • Hands‑on with at least one monitoring tool such as Grafana, Prometheus, or New Relic.
  • Experience with Jenkins, Maven, CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong experience with Terraform and Terragrunt.
  • Good understanding of autoscaling and predictive scaling for microservices and monolithic platforms (VMs/virtualization).
  • Working knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems.
  • Understanding of Azure services like VM scale sets, networking, monitoring insights, and licensing.
  • Hands‑on experience with Azure RBAC and access policy configurations.
  • Ability to identify, review, and clean up unused or orphaned resources in Azure.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages such as Shell, Python, or PowerShell.

Good to Have
  • Development experience in any programming language and SQL.
  • Good understanding of software development methodologies and architectures.
  • Experience with centralized logging tools like Splunk.
  • Exposure to application support or technical support roles.
  • Ability to collaborate across business, security, architecture, and cloud teams to build automation and reusable patterns.
  • Knowledge of ITIL release, deployment, and change management processes.
  • Strong understanding of UNIX/Linux/Windows systems.
  • Familiarity with tools like Nexus and SonarQube.
