DHL IT Services is seeking a DevOps Engineer for the API Management Platform Resiliency team. The role focuses on high availability, disaster recovery, observability and automation across cloud and on‑prem environments.

You will support Apigee X/Hybrid and drive resilient platform operations in a global IT setup. Join a collaborative, security‑minded team that values hands-on engineering, incident response and continuous improvement.

About The Role

Join the API Management Platform (AMP) Resiliency team and implement engineering improvements that strengthen the availability, scalability, recoverability and operational resilience of enterprise API services. The role works across cloud and on-premises infrastructure and supports disaster recovery, business continuity, observability, automation and secure platform operations.

You will support Apigee X, Apigee Hybrid or another enterprise API gateway while building the automation, observability and recovery capabilities required for stable platform services. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on implementation, operation, testing, troubleshooting and technical remediation.

Your role as DevOps Engineer - API Management Platform Resiliency:

• Implement high-availability, resilience, disaster recovery and business continuity improvements for API platform services.
• Build and maintain reusable CI/CD pipelines and automation aligned with platform engineering, security and release standards.
• Automate deployment, validation, configuration, recovery, rollback, health checks and routine platform-maintenance procedures.
• Build and maintain monitoring, logging, alerting, dashboards and observability capabilities that provide actionable service-health, performance, capacity and recovery information.
• Review alert effectiveness and use platform telemetry to identify monitoring gaps, reliability risks, capacity constraints and recurring operational issues.
• Execute resilience, failover, recovery and business continuity exercises across cloud and on-premises environments.
• Validate recovery procedures, platform dependencies, automation and technical evidence, remediate identified gaps and retest corrective actions.
• Implement and validate technical controls required to meet agreed recovery objectives.
• Support platform patching, upgrades, configuration changes and lifecycle-management activities.
• Investigate complex platform, infrastructure and connectivity issues across cloud and on-premises environments.
• Participate in incident response, problem management, root cause analysis and preventive remediation.
• Implement and validate remediation for vulnerabilities, BitSight findings, security findings, configuration weaknesses and operational control gaps.
• Maintain operational runbooks, recovery procedures, dependency information and technical evidence.
• Collaborate with API gateway, network, cloud, security and application teams to provide stable platform services.
• Participate in the on call support rotation, including incident response outside normal working hours, escalation, recovery and service restoration.

Ready to embark on the journey? Here's what we are looking for:

• Hands on experience in DevOps, platform engineering, infrastructure operations or SRE.
• Experience supporting Apigee X, Apigee Hybrid or another enterprise API gateway.
• Strong knowledge of cloud and on-premises infrastructure.
• Hands on Linux administration and technical troubleshooting.
• Scripting experience using Python, Bash, PowerShell or an equivalent language.
• Practical experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code and automated deployment.
• Experience with monitoring, logging, alerting, dashboards, metrics and observability tooling.
• Knowledge of high availability, disaster recovery, business continuity, failover and recovery testing.
• Understanding of recovery objectives, critical service dependencies, capacity planning and performance management.
• Understanding of DNS, routing, load balancing, TLS/mTLS, certificates, firewalls and cloud connectivity.
• Experience with incident management, problem management and root-cause analysis.
• Ability to troubleshoot across API gateway, platform, infrastructure, network and security boundaries.
• Experience implementing vulnerability, security and operational-control remediation.
• Strong documentation, collaboration and cross-team communication skills.
• Willingness and ability to participate in the on-call support rotation, including support outside normal working hours.

Nice to have:

• Experience with Kubernetes, Terraform, GitHub Actions and Google Cloud Platform or comparable technologies.
• Experience with Apigee X or Apigee Hybrid administration and runtime operations.
• Experience with performance, load, chaos or resilience testing.
• Experience automating failover, recovery validation or infrastructure health checks.
• Familiarity with SRE practices, service-level indicators and service-level objectives.
• Experience supporting security remediation and compliance controls in an enterprise environment.
