Our Healthcare Infrastructure team builds and owns the secure, zero-downtime AWS foundation that powers every product across our organization. We don't run a passive "keep the lights on" operation; we design the automated CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), real-time monitoring, and compliance-first cloud practices that enable our applied engineering teams to ship AI applications into hospitals rapidly, safely, and repeatedly.Because our workloads directly touch live hospital operations and sensitive patient telemetry, infrastructure failures are measured in real-world operational delays. About the Role

As a DevOps & Cloud Engineer Intern, you will help architect and maintain the invisible backbone of our healthcare AI platform. You will build reproducible infrastructure, automate multi-environment deployments, harden cloud environments against security threats, and instrument production observability systems that detect failures before they become incidents.Additionally, you will be expected to actively evaluate, adopt, and integrate emerging AI developer tools, automated cloud cost-optimization utilities, AI-assisted IaC generators, and modern AIOps observability stacks. You will leverage these modern technologies directly to accelerate engineering pipelines, eliminate manual infrastructure provisioning, and maximize cloud system efficiency.

What You'll Do

• Architect Infrastructure as Code: Design, build, and maintain secure, audit-ready AWS cloud infrastructure using Terraform (or equivalent IaC tools) ensuring complete version control and reproducibility across environments.
• Automate CI/CD Pipelines: Own end-to-end continuous integration and deployment pipelines, making releases fast, repeatable, and safe as engineering shipping frequency increases.
• Manage Containerized Deployments: Package, optimize, and orchestrate microservices using Docker, building deployment architectures that scale cleanly under dynamic hospital load.
• Enforce Security-First Networking: Configure and manage network topology (VPCs, isolated subnets, security groups, load balancers, WAFs) with a strict least-privilege, security-first mindset tailored for sensitive healthcare data.
• Drive AIOps & Observability: Build real-time monitoring, centralized logging, and proactive alerting frameworks (CloudWatch, Grafana, Prometheus) to catch performance anomalies before they impact hospital staff.
• Leverage Cutting-Edge AI Tools for Efficiency: Research, evaluate, and adopt modern AI developer utilities, AI-assisted IaC formatting tools, automated log-analyzer agents, and cloud governance technologies to continuously streamline infrastructure operations and boost team velocity.
• Drive Compliance & Secrets Management: Implement zero-trust access controls, end-to-end data encryption (at rest and in transit), audit logging, and automated IAM policies compliant with healthcare data regulations.
• Lead Incident Response & Root-Cause Resolution: Actively diagnose production infrastructure failures, execute rapid remediation, and build automated safeguards so the same failure mode never occurs twice.

What We're Looking For

Technical

• AWS Core Services: Solid working knowledge of core cloud services (EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, Lambda, CloudWatch) and how they integrate into a scalable production architecture.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Hands-on project experience with Terraform or equivalent IaC frameworks for declaratively provisioning infrastructure.
• Containers & CI/CD: Practical experience building, optimizing, and deploying Docker containers alongside automated pipeline tools (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or similar).
• Modern AI Tools & Automation: Active experience utilizing modern AI coding assistants, automated infrastructure analysis tools, or AIOps monitoring to increase personal engineering efficiency and code quality.
• Networking & Scripting Fundamentals: Solid grasp of network isolation, DNS, load balancing, firewalls, and proficiency in Bash or Python for infrastructure automation.
• Security & Compliance Mindset: Fundamental understanding of least-privilege IAM, secrets management, and basic encryption principles.

Good to Have

• Kubernetes & Orchestration : Exposure to Kubernetes (EKS/k8s), Helm charts, or managed container workflows (AWS ECS/Fargate).
• Advanced AWS Architecture : Familiarity with multi-account AWS Organizations, Landing Zones, or cross-account IAM role delegation.
• Healthcare Compliance Standards : Understanding of healthcare data compliance frameworks (HIPAA, SOC 2) or healthcare schemas (FHIR/HL7).
• Advanced IaC & Network Security : Experience with AWS CDK/Pulumi, Transit Gateways, API Gateways, or Web Application Firewalls (WAF).

Qualifications

• Academic Standing : Final year student with no active backlogs and a CGPA above 7.5 (or equivalent proof of strong analytical and technical capability).
• Demonstrated Track Record : A portfolio of demonstrable infrastructure or DevOps projects (GitHub repositories, homelab setups, hackathon infrastructure deployments, or cloud automation scripts) what you have shipped matters far more than formal credentials.
• Hands-On Cloud Experience : Direct prior experience configuring AWS, Docker, Terraform, or CI/CD pipelines through personal projects or prior internships.
• Domain Drive : Genuine motivation to build cloud infrastructure for an industry where system reliability directly impacts patient care.
