Job summary

Bounteous in India is seeking a DevOps Architect to own CI/CD, environment, release, and infrastructure architecture across the account's delivery pods, ensuring every workstream can build, test, and ship reliably regardless of which technology stack is ultimately selected.

This role designs automation and quality gates that both human engineers and AI coding agents build against, and is accountable for pipeline and infrastructure practices that keep an agent-orchestrated development model safe

Qualifications

• 10+ years in enterprise technology roles with 6+ years in DevOps or infrastructure architecture.

Responsibilities

• Own CI/CD pipeline architecture, branching strategy, and release automation across all workstreams.
• Own environment strategy for development, testing, and staging environments.
• Design automated quality gates for code from humans and AI agents before merge or deploy.
• Own infrastructure architecture, including cloud resources, monitoring, logging, and reliability practices.
• Partner with lead architects to align DevOps decisions with solution architecture.
• Lead release management practices and deployment windows aligned to delivery cadence.
• Direct and review AI coding agents for IaC, pipelines, and automation scripting.
• Own incident response and root-cause analysis for production issues.
• Oversee security controls, secrets management, access controls, and audit logging.
• Evaluate and integrate new DevOps and AI tooling into the delivery model.
• Set and enforce DevOps standards and mentor engineers within pods.

DevOps Architect — India

Location: India (Hybrid/Remote, overlap hours with US-based Architect(s) and Delivery Lead)

Role Summary

The DevOps Architect owns CI/CD, environment, release, and infrastructure architecture across the account's delivery pods, ensuring every workstream can build, test, and ship reliably regardless of which technology stack is ultimately selected. This role designs the automation and quality gates that both human engineers and AI coding agents build against, and is accountable for the pipeline and infrastructure practices that keep an agent-orchestrated development model safe and predictable in production.

Key Responsibilities

• Own CI/CD pipeline architecture, branching strategy, and release automation across all workstreams, repeatable per delivery pod.


• Own environment strategy: provisioning, configuration management, and refresh cadence for development, test, and staging environments across workstreams.


• Design automated quality gates (build, test, static analysis, security scanning) that apply consistently to both human-written and AI-agent-generated code before it merges or deploys.


• Own infrastructure architecture, including cloud resource design, monitoring, logging, alerting, and reliability/SRE practices.


• Partner with the Principal Architect(s) to ensure DevOps and infrastructure decisions align with the overall solution architecture, once the technology stack is confirmed.


• Own release management practices — versioning, rollback procedures, deployment windows — sized to support the delivery cadence of an agent-orchestrated build workflow.


• Direct and prompt AI coding agents (e.g., Claude Code or equivalent) for infrastructure-as-code, pipeline configuration, and automation scripting, then review and harden the output.


• Own incident response and root-cause analysis processes for production issues, driving remediation and preventive fixes.


• Own security and compliance practices for infrastructure — secrets management, access controls, and audit logging — in coordination with the client's security team.


• Evaluate and integrate new CI/CD, infrastructure, and AI/agentic tooling into the delivery model.


• Set and enforce DevOps standards and mentor DevOps engineers embedded within each workstream's delivery pod.

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years in enterprise technology roles with 6+ years specifically in DevOps or infrastructure architecture.


• Deep expertise in CI/CD tooling (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or similar) and Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar).


• Strong background in cloud platform architecture (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and monitoring/observability tooling.


• Experience designing environment and branching strategies for multi-workstream delivery programs.


• Technology-agnostic release management experience — comfortable integrating CI/CD with either platform-specific deployment tooling (e.g., Salesforce release tools such as Copado/Gearset) or standard web-application deployment pipelines, depending on final stack selection.


• Hands-on experience directing or prompting AI coding agents (e.g., Claude Code or an equivalent agentic development tool) — required, as this engagement uses an agent-orchestrated development model.


• Security-conscious approach to infrastructure design: secrets management, access control, and compliance awareness.

Preferred Qualifications

• Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS/Azure/GCP DevOps Engineer or Solutions Architect, Terraform Associate).


• Experience setting up quality gates or guardrails specifically for AI-agent-generated code.


• Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) background.
