Job summary

Vlink is seeking a DevOps / SRE Engineer with strong QE processes, observability, automation, and DevOps practices to drive QA/QE tool adoption and scalable observability. You will work with Grafana and observability platforms, evaluating when existing tools suffice or when a custom solution using APIs, data stores, or other data sources is preferable.

You will design, build, and maintain Observability dashboards, collaborate across SRE, DevOps, Engineering and QE, and promote automation

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain Observability dashboards for system/app performance.
• Work with Grafana for monitoring, visualization, alerting, and dashboards.
• Assess observability needs and choose Grafana vs custom solutions.
• Develop custom observability by APIs, data stores, telemetry, and monitoring tech.
• Collaborate with SRE, DevOps, Engineering, and QE to improve reliability and visibility.
• Promote QA/QE tools and automation frameworks adoption.
• Support automation across testing, monitoring, deployment, and operations.
• Integrate monitoring/observability with DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.
• Develop dashboards, alerts, metrics, and reporting to preempt issues.

Job description

We are looking for a DevOps / SRE Engineer with strong expertise in QE processes, observability, automation, and DevOps practices. The ideal candidate should be capable of driving the adoption of QA/QE tools, supporting automation initiatives, and building scalable observability solutions.

The candidate should have hands-on experience with Grafana and observability platforms, while also possessing the ability to evaluate when an existing tool is fit for purpose versus when a custom solution leveraging APIs, databases, or other data stores would provide greater flexibility.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain Observability dashboards to provide actionable insights into system and application performance.
• Work extensively with Grafana for monitoring, visualization, alerting, and dashboard development.
• Evaluate observability requirements and determine whether Grafana or existing tools are sufficient or a custom solution should be developed.
• Develop custom observability solutions by leveraging APIs, data stores, telemetry, and other monitoring technologies where required.
• Collaborate with SRE, DevOps, Engineering, and QE teams to improve system reliability, performance, and visibility.
• Drive the adoption and standardization of QA/QE tools and automation frameworks.
• Support automation initiatives across testing, monitoring, deployment, and operational processes.
• Integrate monitoring and observability solutions with existing DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.
• Develop meaningful dashboards, alerts, metrics, and reporting mechanisms to identify system/application issues proactively.
• Analyze monitoring data and provide actionable insights for troubleshooting and performance optimization.
• Continuously evaluate emerging tools and technologies, particularly those supporting AI-driven observability and automation.

Required Skills

• Strong experience in DevOps / SRE practices and processes.
• Hands-on expertise with Grafana and observability dashboards.
• Strong understanding of Monitoring, Logging, Metrics, Alerting, and Application Performance Monitoring.
• Experience working with APIs and different data stores to build custom monitoring/observability solutions.
• Strong understanding of QE/QA processes and automation.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tools.
• Good scripting/programming knowledge such as Python, Shell, or similar.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex application and infrastructure issues using observability data.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to assess requirements and select the right off-the-shelf tool vs. custom-built solution.
