Job summary

Virtusa Bengaluru seeks an experienced Senior DevOps Architect to design and lead scalable, multi-cloud infrastructure using IaC across AWS/Azure/GCP. You will drive standards, governance, and platform engineering to accelerate delivery while ensuring security and compliance.

In this role, you will mentor DevOps and SRE teams, shape cost governance, and implement release pipelines with GitOps tooling to achieve high availability and enterprise-grade reliability.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of experience in DevOps, Infra, or Software Architecture.
• Deep architectural expertise in cloud providers (AWS/Azure/GCP), multi-cloud or hybrid.
• Mastery of IaC tools (Terraform, OpenTofu, Ansible, Pulumi) for multi-environment provisioning.
• Advanced experience architecting production-grade Kubernetes environments (EKS, AKS, GKE) and GitOps tooling (ArgoCD, Flux).
• Proficiency in CI/CD and artifact management (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, Harness) and scripting languages.

• Enterprise CI/CD Frameworks: Standardize and optimize end-to-end continuous integration, continuous delivery, and release management pipelines across all engineering teams.


• DevSecOps & Compliance Integration: Shift security left by embedding automated vulnerability scanning, secrets management, policy-as-code, and compliance guardrails directly into build/deploy pipelines.


• Platform Engineering & Developer Experience: Build self-service developer platforms and reusable automation templates to minimize developer friction and eliminate operational toil.


• Observability & Disaster Recovery: Architectural design of enterprise logging, monitoring, APM, tracing, and high-availability/disaster recovery (HA/DR) strategies to ensure 99.99% uptime.


• FinOps & Cloud Optimization: Establish cloud cost-governance models, rightsizing rules, and automated resource tracking to maximize cloud efficiency.


• Technical Leadership & Governance: Establish architectural standards, lead technical design reviews, mentor DevOps and SRE teams, and drive organizational culture toward automation excellence.

Required Skills

• Experience: 8+ years of experience in DevOps, Infrastructure, or Software Architecture, with at least 3+ years in a Lead, Principal, or Architect capacity.


• Cloud Platforms: Deep architectural expertise in cloud providers (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), including multi-cloud or hybrid environments.


• IaC & Automation: Mastery of Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g., Terraform, OpenTofu, Ansible, Pulumi) for multi-environment provisioning.


• Containerization & Orchestration: Advanced experience architecting production-grade Kubernetes environments (EKS, AKS, GKE), including service meshes (Istio/Linkerd) and GitOps tooling (ArgoCD, Flux).


• CI/CD & Artifact Management: Proven track record designing enterprise pipeline orchestration (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, Harness) and artifact workflows.


• Programming/Scripting: Proficiency in at least two core languages (e.g., Python, Go, Bash, or TypeScript) for platform tooling and custom operator development.
