Software Engineer – Device Drivers (Mid to Senior Level Available)

Location: Multiple Positions in Pune, India. Remote work is considered on a case‑by‑case basis; willingness to relocate to Pune is highly desirable.

Job Description

You will be responsible for the development of Ethernovia’s networking‑device software stack, including kernel/user‑mode device drivers, stack extensions, debug and test utilities, and automated unit/system testing. The drivers must integrate with the communication stack of Linux and AUTOSAR. You will design, implement, test and integrate device drivers built from the ground up for safety‑critical automotive applications, adhering to strict functional safety mandates.

Technical Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field.
• Work experience: 3 years for mid‑level, 7 years for senior‑level positions.
• Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle, including architecture, implementation and testing fundamentals.
• Proficient in C/C++ (must). Experience with Python is an advantage.
• Experience developing software device drivers, preferably for communication devices such as Ethernet.
• Deep understanding of operating systems, kernel, and device‑driver technologies, preferably Linux, QNX or other real‑time OS.
• Experience integrating and testing with OS device‑driver interfaces.
• Hands‑on experience with hardware, preferably communication devices.

Nice to Have Experience

• Simulation and emulation platforms.
• GNU or similar compiler, debugging suites.
• Embedded programming, preferably with communication devices and buses such as I²C, SPI, Ethernet, USB.
• Building automotive or other safety‑critical systems using qualification methods/processes such as MISRA, ASPICE and ISO26262.
• Knowledge of communication protocols: Ethernet MAC, PHY, switching, TCP/IP, security, Serdes, PCIe, NTB, SR‑IOV.
• Video processing standards and protocols.
• Version control and review tools/processes such as Perforce/Git, Swarm.
• Build systems such as Yocto.
• AUTOSAR communication stack.
• High‑performance drivers and test tools for networking and communications.
• Virtualization and virtualized device drivers.
