Ethernovia, Inc. in Pune (Hybrid/Anywhere in India) seeks a Senior Principal Embedded Software Engineer to lead development of our networking device software stack for safety-critical automotive applications.

You will design, implement, and test firmware and device drivers, optimize code, and collaborate with hardware teams to drive quality and performance across platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's in CS/Software or related field.
• 18+ years of embedded software experience.
• Experience with embedded firmware for communication devices (Ethernet).
• Strong C/C++ programming and firmware development skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture, design, implementation, testing, and integration of Ethernovia's networking device software stack (Embedded Firmware, drivers, and test utilities).
• Develop firmware that configures and controls communication devices; interface with host systems via drivers.
• Design and implement device drivers enabling applications to leverage hardware.
• Develop automated unit and system tests to ensure robustness.
• Contribute to firmware for safety-critical automotive applications adhering to safety standards.
• Promote safety culture and best development practices.

Senior Principal Embedded Software Engineer (Leadership Role): Pune(Hybrid)/ Anywhere in India

Ethernovia is seeking a Senior Principal Embedded Software Engineer to lead the development of our cutting-edge networking device software stack. As a Principal Embedded Software Engineer, you will be a key player in designing, implementing, and testing the core software for Ethernovia's networking devices. Your work will directly impact the functionality and performance of our hardware, particularly in safety-critical automotive applications. What You'll Do:

• Lead the architecture, design, implementation, testing, and integration of Ethernovia's networking device software stack, including Embedded Firmware, kernel/user mode device drivers, stack extensions, debug, and test utilities.

• Develop firmware that configures, controls, and monitors communication devices, interacting with host systems via device drivers to expose hardware features. This may also involve developing standalone firmware libraries within device drivers.

• Design and implement device drivers that enable user applications, middleware, and operating systems to fully leverage our feature-rich hardware.

• Develop and implement automated unit and system tests to ensure robust and reliable software.

• Contribute to the development of firmware built from the ground up for safety-critical automotive applications, adhering to stringent functional safety standards.

• Actively participate in a culture of safety and best development practices, ensuring all work meets rigorous quality and compliance standards.

What You Bring:

Technical Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science/software or a related field.

• Experience: Minimum 18+ years of relevant experience in embedded software development.

• Software Development Lifecycle: Strong understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle, including Architecture, Implementation, and Testing fundamentals.

• Programming Expertise: Proficient in C/C++ Programming Language. Experience in Python is a plus.

• Firmware Development: Extensive experience with Firmware, preferably for communication devices like Ethernet.

• Embedded Systems: Strong experience with Embedded firmware, particularly for communication devices like Ethernet.

• Integration & Testing: Proven experience with the integration and testing of firmware and low-level code.

• Hardware Interaction: Hands-on experience with hardware and embedded processors, preferably for communication devices.

• Code Optimization: Expertise in efficient code practices for code footprint and and performance.

Nice-to-Have Experience with:

• Simulation and emulation platforms.

• GNU or similar compiler and debugging suites.

• Embedded programming, preferably with communication devices and hardware buses like I2C, SPI, Ethernet, and USB.

• Building Automotive or other safety-critical systems using qualification methods/processes like MISRA, ASPICE, and ISO26262.

• Communication protocols like Ethernet MAC, PHY, Switching, TCP/IP, Security, Serdes, PCIe, NTB, and SR-IOV.

• Video processing standards and protocols.

• Code Version Control and Review tools/processes (e.g., Perforce/Git, Swarm).

• Mixed-Signal systems (Analog, Digital, Digital Signal Processing (DSP)).

• ARM family of processors or similar embedded processors.

• Bootloaders like uboot or similar.
