Job summary

Westcon-Comstor is seeking a Development Lead in India with 8–10 years of software experience to drive technical delivery for the India-based team. You will be the technical authority, shaping architecture, code quality, and mentorship across frontend and backend teams.

The role requires deep expertise in AEM, Java, Spring, JavaScript, and React, and a proven ability to lead by example in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years of software development experience with at least 3+ years in a technical lead role.
• Expert-level proficiency with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) - authoring, component development, OSGi, Sling, and JCR.
• Strong backend development skills in Java and Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data).
• Solid frontend development skills in JavaScript (ES6+) and React.
• Experience designing RESTful APIs and integrating third-party services.
• Proficient in Maven, Git, and CI/CD tooling.
• Strong understanding of software architecture patterns (MVC, microservices, headless CMS).
• Experience in Microsoft's Azure eco-system.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to present technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end technical design and implementation of AEM-based digital experience solutions.
• Architect scalable, maintainable solutions across the full stack (Java/Spring backends, React frontends).
• Conduct code reviews and enforce coding standards, best practices, and architectural guidelines.
• Mentor frontend and backend developers, providing technical direction and growth opportunities.
• Collaborate with Business Analysts to translate requirements into technical designs.
• Evaluate technical risks and propose mitigation strategies.
• Participate in sprint planning and estimation with accurate technical assessments.
• Serve as escalation point for the team, resolving complex challenges.
• Drive adoption of TDD and CI/CD practices.
• Stay current with AEM updates, Java ecosystem changes, and frontend tech evolution.
• Provide technical leadership for Azure-based application development with Infrastructure alignment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end technical design and implementation of AEM-based digital experience solutions.
• Architect scalable, maintainable solutions across the full stack, including Java/Spring backends and React frontends.

• Mentor and guide frontend and backend developers, providing technical direction and growth opportunities.
• Collaborate with the Business Analyst to understand requirements and translate them into technical designs.
• Evaluate technical risks and propose mitigation strategies.
• Participate in sprint planning and estimation, providing accurate technical assessments.
• Serve as a technical escalation point for the team, resolving complex implementation challenges.
• Drive adoption of modern development practices including test-driven development (TDD) and CI/CD.
• Stay current with AEM platform updates, Java ecosystem changes, and frontend technology evolution.
• Provide technical leadership for application development on the Azure platform, partnering closely with the Infrastructure team to align application architecture with cloud infrastructure, security, scalability, and operational best practices while delivering solutions that meet business goals.

• Knowledge of performance optimization and accessibility standards (WCAG).
