Job summary

Merkle is seeking a Tech Lead to guide the technical direction for multi-market AEM projects and integrations in a full-time capacity. You will lead a team of developers while remaining hands-on with complex solutions and ensure scalable, high-quality architectures.

You will mentor engineers, review code, and uphold best practices, with a focus on performance, maintainability, and robust REST APIs. Excellent communication with clients is essential.

Qualifications

• 11+ years of software development experience with 3+ years in technical leadership or mentoring role.
• Experience with the AEM framework and the Adobe Experience Cloud.
• Experience with AEM technologies (e.g. Apache Sling, Sling models, HTL/Sightly).
• Strong knowledge of Java and modern web development; familiarity with Spring.
• Proven back-end architectural thinker; focus on code quality, performance, and scalable solutions.

As a Tech Lead, you will guide the technical direction and strategy for multi-market AEM projects and integrations. You will lead a team of developers while maintaining hands‑on involvement in complex technical solutions.

You will work in a strong multidisciplinary team across Europe and Asia.

You will oversee architecture decisions, code quality standards, and technical best practices across the team. Your responsibilities span technical strategy, team guidance, mentoring developers, and ensuring scalable solutions that meet business objectives.

You will provide technical mentorship, conduct code reviews, and guide the team in implementing best practices and emerging technologies in AEM.

Qualifications

• You have minimum 11+ years of software development experience, with 3+ years in a technical leadership or mentoring role (full-time work, not internships)
• Experience with the AEM framework and the Adobe Experience Cloud
• Experience with AEM technologies (e.g. Apache Sling, Sling models, HTL/Sightly)
• Very good knowledge of modern web development using Java as well as experience with industry standard software frameworks (like Spring)
• You are a technically accomplished back-end developer with strong architectural thinking; you are passionate about code quality, performance, and establishing best practices across your team.
• You have proven experience leading technical teams and architecting large-scale web solutions
• You are an excellent communicator, comfortable with client dialogue and mentoring team members to grow their technical capabilities.
• Experience and in-depth knowledge of REST APIs both as consumer and producer
• Experience with version control (GIT) and working in environments with CI/CD
• Experience with Maven
• Experience with researching and analyzing complex solutions and features
• Experience with performance, logging, scalability, and maintainability
