Job summary

Signify, the new company name of Philips Lighting, seeks a skilled Electronics Hardware Engineer in India to design and develop advanced hardware from concept through product release. You will prototype, test, and document components and subsystems while aligning with performance, reliability, and industry standards.

You will apply cutting-edge research, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to technology roadmaps while leveraging certifications as advantageous assets.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related technical field, providing foundational knowledge in electronic circuit design and hardware development.
  • Experience in electronic hardware research and development, including design, prototyping, and testing of electronic components and systems.
  • Relevant certifications in electronics design or hardware development (e.g., IPC Designer Certification) are advantageous; however, no mandatory licenses are required to perform the core responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Specialized in electronic hardware development. Designs and optimizes advanced electronic circuits to meet performance and reliability targets from concept through product release.
  • Responsible for the design, development, testing and documenting of a system, subsystem, or a component as part of an overall architecture. Ensure that engineering solutions are practical, efficient, and aligned with project goals and industry standards.
  • Applies the latest technology and research findings/results into engineering design solutions and design rules.
  • Works with an outside‑in view to understand and fulfil customer and market requirements as well as competitive alternatives. Works closely with the global competence community and Research organization to stay updated with the latest insights in innovations and technical breakthroughs.
  • Designs, realizes, tests (sub‑systems or components) based on design requirements and produces specs for the product and propositions.
  • Drives IP creation and protection (Patents, Trade secrets, Copyrights).
  • Writes, updates and maintains development reports and project deliverables.
  • Depending on grade, contributes to and drives technology road‑mapping.
  • Depending on grade, provides coaching and mentoring within the team to support effective use of available knowledge and skills, both internally and externally.
