What You’ll Be Doing (position summary):

Designs, develops, implements, and maintains software solutions supporting Equities Trading, Prime Services, and Clearing technology platforms. Works closely with business analysts, architects, and cross‑functional technology teams to deliver high quality, scalable applications that support trading, post trade processing, and operational efficiency. Contributes to modern engineering practices and cloud‑native adoption aligned with Capital Markets technology strategy.

How You’ll Succeed (responsibilities):

• Design, develop, and maintain applications using C#, Angular, SQL, and modern web technologies.
• Build and deploy cloud native solutions on Microsoft Azure, leveraging containers and Kubernetes where applicable.
• Develop RESTful services, APIs, and UI components supporting Equities, Prime Services, and Clearing workflows.
• Participate in solution design and technical architecture discussions to ensure scalability, performance, and maintainability.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices to enable automated builds, testing, and deployments.
• Ensure adherence to secure coding standards, performance benchmarks, and CIBC technology policies.
• Collaborate with business analysts to translate functional requirements into robust technical solutions.
• Work closely with QA, infrastructure, and production support teams to ensure high quality releases and operational stability.
• Provide ongoing support, enhancements, and defect resolution for production applications.

CROSS-FUNCTIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:

• Partners with business analysts and product owners supporting Equities, Prime Services, and Clearing.
• Collaborates with solution architects and senior developers on design and technology standards.
• Engages with DevOps, cloud, and infrastructure teams for deployment and environment management.
• Works with QA teams to support functional, regression, and performance testing.
• Interfaces with production support teams to ensure operational readiness and issue resolution.
• Works closely with business analysts to gather and clarify requirements.

Who You Are (skills/qualifications):

Technical Skills:

• Strong hands on experience with C# / .NET application development.
• Proficiency in SQL (query optimization, stored procedures, data modeling).
• Front end development experience using Angular, HTML, CSS, and TypeScript.
• Experience with Azure cloud services and cloud native application patterns.
• Working knowledge of Kubernetes and containerized application deployments.
• Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, Git, and automated build/release processes.

Experience:

• Minimum 3+ years of experience in application development within enterprise or financial services environments.
• Experience supporting high availability, business critical platforms.
• Exposure to Capital Markets domains such as Equities Trading, Prime Brokerage, Clearing, or Post Trade Processing is a strong asset.

Soft Skills:

• Strong communication skills, ability to work independently, and effective collaboration with cross‑functional teams.
• Comfortable operating in a fast paced, delivery focused environment.
