Job summary

Samsonite is seeking a senior design professional in Mumbai to conceptualize and sketch travel goods while researching fashion trends. The role involves presenting designs to the design head for approval and refining concepts to meet production constraints.

The ideal candidate has 5-7 years of experience in travel goods or lifestyle products and a design graduate degree from NIFT or NID in Product or Lifestyle Accessory design.

Responsibilities

Job Description

1). Designing:

• Design conceptualization and sketching for Travel goods
• Research on fashion and market trends.
• Present designs and reports to design head for approval and discuss need for modification.

2). Product Development:

• Develop and coordinate the fabrication of models or samples and the drafting of working drawings and specification sheets from sketches.
• Modify and refine designs, using working models, to conform to specifications, production limitations, or changes in design trends.
• Evaluate feasibility of design ideas, based on factors such as appearance, safety, function, serviceability, budget, production costs/methods, and market characteristics.

Education

Design Graduate from NIFT/ NID Product /Lifestyle Accessory design

Experience Requirements

5-7 years preferably in travel goods or lifestyle products.
