Job summary

IndiGrid is seeking an experienced Civil/Structural engineer for transmission line projects in India. The role focuses on technical due diligence, tower and foundation design, and coordination with cross-functional teams to ensure feasible constructions and compliant designs.

The candidate will oversee design checks, prepare vendor scopes, and mentor junior engineers while supporting O&M with latest tech solutions. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential.

Qualifications

• BE/B.Tech in Civil/Structural Engineering is required.
• 8–10 years of experience in transmission line projects.
• Strong knowledge of design standards and codes.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical due diligence and asset assessment before transactions.
• Monitor and troubleshoot O&M issues from an engineering perspective.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams for civil/structural designs.
• Prepare technical specifications and scope of work for vendors.
• Design towers, foundations, and special structures per site needs.
• Review design drawings (GA) and perform design checks.
• Oversee field verification and witness testing of TL towers.
• Analyze tower failures and propose corrective actions.
• Stay updated with latest technologies to support O&M.
• Ensure availability of design documents during asset transfer.

Job description

• Leading in Technical Due diligence in all aspects before acquiring the assets.


• Managing & Active monitoring of projects from Engineering perspective and solving O&M problems.


• Coordinating with cross functional teams and understanding construction feasibility, checking and approval of design drawings related to CIVIL/Structural Engineering domain.


• Preparation of technical specification and defining scope of work for various vendors dealing with Transmission line.


• Independently Handling of tower/foundation/revetment/special structure designs as per site requirement.


• Well versed in design checking (Design & GA drawing) & foundation design, tower spotting data preparation, spotting of towers using PLS-CAAD, stringing chart, etc.


• Design of Guyed and self-supported structures (PLS-Tower).


• Design of connection (bolted & welded).


• Design of special foundations like raft & pile.


• Co-ordinate and witnessing of transmission line tower Testing and proto inspection.


• Analyzing tower failure at site and proposing suitable rectification procedures.


• Understanding and finding new/latest technologies to assist O&M team.


• Ensuring availability of all design documents & Drawings during asset purchase/transfer.


• Attend meetings with government authorities in case of rerouting or new developments on existing TL.


• Knowledge of quality assurance documentation and procedures.


• Site visit shall be carried out as and when required to give a reliable solution.

Educated to Graduate/Post-Graduate: BE/B. Tech - Civil/Structural Engineering.

Experience: Early mid-level career professionals having work experience in the field of Transmission line with 8 to 10 years of experience.

Mandatory Soft Skills:

• Proficient in using Microsoft Office package and ability to learn and utilize those skills quickly.


• Brilliant analytical and problem-solving skills


• Effective written/verbal communication and organization/analytical skills; experience of recording/writing detailed technical data and reports.


• Strong knowledge of standards and its applicability.
