Job summary

Apraava Energy Ltd. is seeking a senior civil/structural engineer to lead transmission line projects, focusing on tower design, geotechnical coordination, and quality control.

You will analyze terrain and soil conditions, develop foundation designs, and ensure compliance with IS standards while guiding cross-functional teams through design and execution stages. The role requires coordinating with geotechnical, survey, civil, procurement, and construction teams, reviewing design basis reports,

Responsibilities

• Civil and structural engineering for transmission lines.
• Analyze topography, soil conditions, and other geological factors that might impact the design and construction.
• Preparing the survey of quantities according to the site condition and provide inputs for land development and civil foundation.
• Suggest cost control strategies such as reduction in earthwork construction, foundation, ground improvement works.
• Finalizing Civil engineering specifications requirements in reference to RFP and tender document and Prepare the OTR (Owners technical requirement).
• Develop the optimized civil foundation design for site specific Geotech requirements considering the CBIP manual and latest code provisions.
• Design and analysis of lattice steel transmission towers for voltage levels ranging from 66 kV to 765 kV and above.
• Review and validate tower loading calculations considering wind, seismic, broken-wire, and construction load cases.
• Coordinate tower testing requirements and review tower test results.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising safety or quality.
• Review and approve the design basis reports, structural and civil engineering drawing submitted by engineering consultant and provide inputs for value engineering and optimization of drawings.
• Ensuring the applicable IS standards and regulations.
• Prepare and implement quality control measures and QAP and FQAP checks to ensure civil infrastructure meets design standards and specifications.

• Civil and structural Engineering for transmission lines.
• Analyze topography, soil conditions, and other geological factors that might impact the design and construction.
• Preparing the survey of quantities according to the site condition and provide inputs for land development and civil foundation

• Carry out structural analysis and optimization of suspension, tension, transposition, terminal, and special towers.
• Review and validate tower loading calculations considering wind, seismic, broken-wire, and construction load cases.
• Coordinate tower testing requirements and review tower test results.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising safety or quality.
• Review and approve the design basis reports, structural and civil engineering drawing submitted by engineering consultant and

Coordination and Collaboration during design and execution of the projects

• Participate in technical meetings with clients, utilities, and EPC contractors.

Developing self and others

• Continue to learn and remain updated on design guidelines,standards, systems, applicable engineering codes and Apraava
• Energy Ltd. policies and procedures.
• Engage in achieving self-reliance on civil engineering in Transmission line foundation and structure.
• Facilitate sharing of new developments in Technology in civil engineering with a wider audience.
