Job summary

Multiplex Drone Private Limited is seeking a Design Engineer – Trainee to assist in the design, development, testing, and improvement of UAV/mechanical systems. You’ll work with senior engineers on 3D modelling, drawings, BOM, and documentation while gaining practical exposure to drone manufacturing.

You will contribute to UAV structures, create CAD models and drawings, support weight and strength calculations, and help select materials and processes, coordinating with manufacturing,

Qualifications

• Experience with CAD-based design and 3D modelling.
• Knowledge of GD&T, tolerances, and manufacturing drawings.
• Understanding of materials and manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design and development of UAV structures, frames, landing gear, payload mounts, enclosures, and mechanical assemblies.
• Create and modify 3D CAD models, assemblies, and 2D manufacturing drawings.
• Support design calculations related to weight, dimensions, structural strength, centre of gravity, payload, and component placement.
• Assist in selecting suitable materials and manufacturing processes for UAV components.
• Prepare BOM, part drawings, assembly drawings, and design documentation.
• Coordinate with manufacturing, production, electronics, and testing teams during prototype development.
• Support prototype assembly, fitment checks, dimensional verification, and design validation.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist in the design and development of multirotor UAV structures, frames, landing gear, payload mounts, enclosures, and mechanical assemblies.
• Create and modify 3D CAD models, assemblies, and 2D manufacturing drawings.
• Support design calculations related to weight, dimensions, structural strength, centre of gravity, payload, and component placement.
• Assist in selecting suitable materials and manufacturing processes for UAV components.
• Prepare Bill of Materials (BOM), part drawings, assembly drawings, and design documentation.
• Coordinate with manufacturing, production, electronics, and testing teams during prototype development.
• Support prototype assembly, fitment checks, dimensional verification, and design validation.

Technical Skills Required

• Basic knowledge of SolidWorks CAD software.
• Understanding of engineering drawings, GD&T, tolerances, fits, and manufacturing drawings.
