I had a positive virtual interview experience and successfully answered almost all technical and HR questions. My salary expectation (around 40% hike) was discussed and appeared acceptable, after which I was invited to Nashik for the final round. However, after traveling from Gurgaon to Nashik at my own expense, I was offered a salary significantly lower than my expectation, resulting in a considerable financial loss compared to my current package. If this salary range was fixed, it should have been communicated before asking me to travel. What disappointed me most was the lack of transparency. Throughout the process, I answered around 30–32 questions and was unable to answer only one technical question in the final round. Despite receiving positive feedback on my technical performance, no explanation was provided regarding the lower offer or the final evaluation. My advice to future candidates is to finalize salary expectations and key terms during the virtual interview stage to avoid unnecessary travel, time, and expenses.
