Job summary

Inoble Solution - India is seeking an experienced Sheet Metal Design Engineer to lead design and detailing of sheet metal components using SOLIDWORKS. The role focuses on creating manufacturing drawings, nesting files, and supporting fabrication activities for cost‑effective production.

The ideal candidate has 4–5 years of hands-on sheet metal experience, strong GD&T knowledge, and exposure to electrical enclosures and control panels; Coimbatore location preferred with immediate or short notice.

Qualifications

• We require 4–5 years of hands-on sheet metal design and fabrication experience.
• Strong proficiency in SOLIDWORKS Sheet Metal and 2D drafting.
• Experience with laser cutting, plasma cutting, bending, and welding.
• Good GD&T knowledge and ability to prepare manufacturing drawings.
• Experience designing electrical enclosures and control panels is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop sheet metal components and assemblies using SOLIDWORKS.
• Prepare detailed 2D manufacturing drawings in accordance with industry standards.
• Generate laser cutting, plasma cutting, and nesting files for production.
• Collaborate with the fabrication team to ensure manufacturability and production efficiency.
• Design sheet metal parts considering fabrication processes such as laser cutting, plasma cutting, bending, and welding.
• Apply GD&T principles in engineering drawings.
• Define appropriate sheet metal parameters, bend allowances, and welding symbols as per standards.
• Review and optimize designs for cost-effectiveness, quality, and ease of manufacturing.
• Coordinate with production, quality, and project teams to resolve design-related issues.
• Ensure all documentation is accurate and maintained according to company standards.

The ideal candidate should have hands‑on experience in designing sheet metal components, preparing manufacturing drawings, and supporting fabrication activities. Experience in electrical enclosure and control panel design will be an added advantage.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 4–5 years of experience in sheet metal design and fabrication.
• Strong proficiency in SOLIDWORKS Sheet Metal.
• Hands‑on experience in sheet metal fabrication processes including:
  • Laser Cutting
  • Plasma Cutting
  • Sheet Metal Bending
  • Welding
• Strong knowledge of 2D drafting and manufacturing drawing preparation.
• Experience in nesting and laser cutting file generation.
• Good understanding of GD&T standards.
• Strong knowledge of sheet metal design parameters, bend calculations, and welding symbols.
• Experience in designing Electrical Enclosures and Control Panels is an added advantage.
• Excellent problem‑solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a cross‑functional team.

Preferred Candidate Profile

• Detail‑oriented with strong engineering fundamentals.
• Familiarity with manufacturing and fabrication standards.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
