Job summary

Assystem in India is seeking a Design Engineer (Secondary) to review and execute secondary engineering activities for substation projects under the guidance of the Design Lead (Secondary). The role requires strong knowledge of Protection & Automation systems and coordination with vendors for equipment finalization.

The candidate should have 4+ years of relevant experience in secondary engineering of substations and be able to interact with site teams to clarify design aspects and ensure

• Experience in Secondary Engineering of Substation Projects required.
• Knowledge of Protection & Automation systems for substations essential.
• Ability to coordinate with vendors and project teams for delivery and quality.

Responsibilities

• Timely completion of all deliverables for assigned projects.
• Review CRP (Control Relay Panels) and Automation drawings from vendors.
• Coordinate with Site Execution and Cluster teams for design clarifications.
• Interact with vendors for compliance to technical specs, comments and quality.
• Obtain client specification requirements and prepare evaluation checklists.
• Evaluate technical offers based on client specs and assist design lead.
• Prepare CT/VT sizing calculations and develop DC/AC single-line diagrams.
• Review BOM and compare with tender quantities.
• Assist in pre-tender engineering including BOM estimation and offer reviews.

Job Description

Objective / Purpose As a Design Engineer (Secondary), the person shall be capable of reviewing & executing Secondary Engineering Activities for Substation Projects as per the direction of Design Lead (Secondary). He must have good knowledge in Protection & Automation System in Substation. The person shall be thorough with protection applications. She / He shall coordinate with vendors for finalization of the equipment after vendor evaluation.

Key Responsibilities

• Timely completion of all deliverables
• Responsible for review of CRP (Control Relay Panels) and Automation drawings developed by the vendor
• Interact with Site Execution & Cluster teams for clarification w.r.t. the design of equipment
• Interact with Vendor for clarification w.r.t. compliances to Technical Specifications & comments and Quality
• Coordinate with primary design engineer Obtaining specification requirement of the client and checklist for evaluation from the Design Lead (Secondary) / Project Engineering Managers
• Evaluate Technical Offers based on Technical Specification (requirement) of the client and timely submission to Design Lead (Secondary) for review
• Prepare design calculations of CT / VT and battery sizing and development of DC & AC Single Line Diagrams of a Substation and submitting to the Design Lead for checking
• Review Bill of Material and comparing with the Tender Quantity
• Pre-Tender Engineering including estimation of BOM (Bill of Materials) and Offer Reviews for secondary equipment

Qualifications

Education : B.E. / B. Tech. in Electrical / Electrical & Electronics Engineering

Experience : 4+ year (Must have experience in Secondary Engineering of Substation Projects)
