Assystem in India is seeking a Design Engineer (Secondary) for substations to deliver timely engineering deliverables and review vendor drawings. The role involves protection and control scheme work, SCADA familiarity, and knowledge of CT/VT calculations in line with client requirements.

The ideal candidate has a BE/B.Tech in Electrical or Electrical & Electronics Engineering and at least 4 years of relevant experience in secondary engineering of substation projects, based in Chennai, India.

• Education: B.E. / B.Tech. in Electrical / Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
• Experience: 4+ years in secondary engineering of substation projects.
• Knowledge: National and International Codes and Standards.

Mansioni

• Timely completion of all deliverables.
• Review CRP (Control Relay Panels) and automation drawings by vendor.
• Interact with Site Execution & Cluster teams for design clarifications.
• Interact with Vendor on compliance to technical specifications and quality.
• Coordinate with design leads and project engineering managers on client requirements.
• Evaluate technical offers based on client specs and prepare submissions for review.
• Prepare CT/VT design calculations and single-line diagrams for substations.
• Review BOM and compare with tender quantities.
• Pre-tender engineering including BOM estimation and offer reviews for secondary equipment.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

• Timely completion of all deliverables
• Responsible for review of CRP (Control Relay Panels) and Automation drawings developed by the vendor
• Interact with Site Execution & Cluster teams for clarification w.r.t. the design of equipment
• Interact with Vendor for clarification w.r.t. compliances to Technical Specifications & comments and Quality
• Coordinate with primary design engineer Obtaining specification requirement of the client and checklist for evaluation from the Design Lead (Secondary) / Project Engineering Managers
• Evaluate Technical Offers based on Technical Specification (requirement) of the client and timely submission to Design Lead (Secondary) for review
• Prepare design calculations of CT / VT and battery sizing and development of DC & AC Single Line Diagrams of a Substation and submitting to the Design Lead for checking
• Review Bill of Material and comparing with the Tender Quantity
• Pre-Tender Engineering including estimation of BOM (Bill of Materials) and Offer Reviews for secondary equipment

Technical Expertise

The Design Engineer (Secondary) is required to have complete understanding of Secondary Engineering activities like Protection & Control Scheme drawings, SCADA and calculation of burden parameters of CT & CVT. The Engineer is required to have knowledge on National and International Codes and Standards.

It is desirable to have knowledge on System Studies.

Qualifications

Education : B.E. / B. Tech. in Electrical / Electrical & Electronics Engineering

Experience : 4 + year (Must have experience in Secondary Engineering of Substation Projects)
