Job summary

Quagmire IT Services LLP in Pune seeks a Design Engineer with 6+ years of Mechanical Engineering experience to drive product improvements for Line Pumps and Boom Pumps. Based at HO Pune, you will coordinate with Goa production and the head office design team to ensure alignment between design and production.

Qualifications

• B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering with 6+ years of design experience.
• Experience in heavy machinery or construction equipment is preferred.
• CAD proficiency is required; Lean/Six Sigma a plus.

1. Job Purpose

Overview:

The Design Engineer will work at the HO Pune, focusing on product improvementbased on current production & field issues. He will be also responsible to provideresolutions/ suggestions over current product & process issues. This role will closelycoordinate with the production team at Goa and the design team at the head office inPune to ensure smooth alignment between design and production requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities:

• Understand existing product improvement requirements of Line Pumps &
• Boom Pumps. Collaborate with production teams to address design-relatedissues during the assembly of Line and Boom pumps.
• Collaborate with quality & service team to identify current design issues inthe field machines & ways to overcome the issues.
• Lead initiatives to resolve existing issues within defined timeline. Support toimprove production efficiency, product quality, and safety measures withinthe factory.
• Identify VAVE ideas within the product & process. Take initiative toimplement these ideas with close monitoring.
• Coordinate with the Pune design team to ensure that the assembly processaligns with the original design intent & identify deviations.
• Conduct root cause analysis for production/service issues and recommendappropriate corrective actions.
• Assist in the design and modification of components and assemblies basedon feedback from the production line.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Create and maintain comprehensive engineering documentation, includingprocess maps and assembly guidelines & engineering standards.

Secondary Responsibilities:

• Support the development and launch of new products, ensuring smoothtransitions from design to production.
• Participate in regular reviews to assess production performance, identifybottlenecks, and propose solutions.

Certifications/Licenses:

• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., Solid Edge, AutoCAD) isrequired.
• Knowledge of Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma is anadvantage

Special Skills:

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Based in Pune with occasional travel to the Goa factory. Ready totravel to job sites & suppliers based on needs.

Physical Demands:

Factory-based work with regular coordination with the production and design teams.
