Job summary

Ecolab in Pune, India is seeking a design engineer to create 2D/3D CAD drawings for equipment, civil layouts and mechanical details. You will produce piping arrangements, isometrics and P&ID diagrams under senior guidance, and support operations with technical documentation and calculations.

You will apply safety standards, update standard drawings, and assist project management with status updates and technical support as required.

Qualifications

• Produce 2D/3D CAD drawings for equipment, civil work layouts and mechanical design details.
• Produce installation and piping arrangement drawings, isometric drawings and any other detailed drawings.
• Produce process flow diagrams (P&ID) under guidance of Process, Mechanical and Automation Engineers.

Responsibilities

• Review, understand, interpret and clarify specifications to determine project requirements.
• Generate design, general arrangement and other submittal drawings within estimated hours and timescales.
• Provide design calculations and documentation support for project work.
• Apply and supervise safety standards to equipment and services.
• Maintain and progress standard drawings and data for a product or equipment.
• Provide technical support to Operations with drawings or calculations.
• Advise Project Management of project status.

Job description

Review, understand, interpret and clarify all applicable specifications, to determine and fulfil project requirements and deliverables. Generating design, general arrangement and other submittal drawings within estimated hours and timescales. Provide design calculations and documentation support for project work. Work closely with all functions of the business to ensure that the most economic, safe and suitable design is achieved. Implement improvements to the current range of standard equipment and services and develop ideas for future. Produce 2D/3D CAD drawings for equipment, civil work layouts and mechanical design details to specific requirements within piping and plant construction. Produce installation and piping arrangement drawings Produce steel construction drawings, isometric drawings and any other special detailed drawings Produce process flow diagrams (P&ID diagram) under guidance of Process, Mechanical and Automation Engineers Produce parts-lists, bills of materials and technical documentation during and prior to being issued for manufacture. Apply and supervise the application of safety standards to those equipments and services. Maintain, update and progress the standard drawings and data for a particular product or equipment. Provide technical support to Operations by generating sales assistance, drawings, or calculations. Performing basic engineering analysis; Advising Project Management and Project Engineers of project status while adhering to all company and corporate policies; Other duties may be assigned as required.
