Job summary

Seko Dosing India Pvt Ltd, Coimbatore, seeks a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to translate customer orders into detailed, manufacturable designs. You will work closely with sales, production, and project teams to ensure designs meet specs, manufacturability, and timelines.

Ideal candidates have 4–9 years of electrical design experience, proficiency in AutoCAD/DraftSight/E-Plan, and SAP; strong communication and teamwork are essential for collaboration across departments and with clients.

Qualifications

• BE Electrical Engineering required.
• 4–9 years design experience.
• Proficient in AutoCAD/DraftSight/E-Plan.
• Working knowledge of SAP.
• MS Office suite including Excel and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Review contracts, PO, specifications and requisitions to understand client requirements.
• Prepare RFQs for motors, VFDs, actuators, and instruments per project needs.
• Review supplier offers for compliance; coordinate with supply chain, sales, procurement and clients.
• Prepare and maintain motor and VFD design documents (datasheets, curves, GA drawings, load lists, test reports, wiring diagrams).
• Manage and update the electrical database; ensure timely document delivery with project teams.
• Coordinate with procurement and project teams for timely delivery of documents and products.
• Provide technical support to production, QA, and project teams for correct design implementation.
• Interpret wiring schematics to update interlock and signal requirements.
• Engage with clients, participate in calls, and resolve queries on electrical motors and VFDs.
• Knowledge of hazardous areas (Division 1/2, Zone 1/2) and selection of motors, actuators, cables, VFDs, transmitters.
• Basic instrumentation and communication protocol knowledge.
• Familiarity with ATEX, IECEx, ECAS, and ISO certifications.

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

As a Electrical Design Engineer for E&I Team in Order Engineering, primary role is to translate customer orders and requirements into detailed, manufacturable designs. Working closely with sales, production, Mechanical and project management teams to ensure that the designs meet customer specifications, are manufacturable, and align with project timelines and budgets.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• 1. Review technical contracts, purchase orders, specifications, material requisitions, and related documents to understand client requirements and expectations.
• 2. Prepare Requests for Quotation (RFQs) for motors, VFDs, actuators, and instruments in accordance with project requirements.
• 3. Review supplier technical offers for compliance with project requirements. Coordinate order placement and clarify requirements with supply chain, sales, procurement, and clients.
• 4. Prepare and maintain motor and VFD design documents (datasheets, curves, GA drawings, load lists, test reports, control philosophy, wiring diagrams) per customer requirements, and communicate any design changes to stakeholders.
• 5. Manage and update the existing electrical database effectively.
• 6. Collaborate closely with procurement and project teams to ensure timely delivery of documents and products.
• 7. Provide technical support to production and quality teams to ensure correct design implementation, and coordinate with manufacturing, QA, and project teams for seamless integration into production.
• 8. Must be able to interpret wiring & schematics to update interlock and signal requirements.
• 9. Ability to work independently, participate in client calls, and resolve queries related to electrical motors and VFDs.
• 10. Strong knowledge of hazardous (Division 1, Division 2, Zone 1 & Zone 2) and safe area classifications, and selection of motors, actuators, cables, VFDs, and transmitters.
• 11. Basic knowledge of instrumentation and communication protocols.
• 12. Knowledge of international standards such as ATEX, IECEx, ECAS, and ISO certifications.

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• BE. Electrical Engineering with 4 to 9 years design experience.
• Electrical Design Software which includes AutoCAD/Draft sight /E-plan.
• Working knowledge of SAP
• General software MS Office, Excel, Power point, Adobe.
