Job summary

Lucy Group Ltd. is seeking a Design Engineer (Contract Engineering) at our India Engineering Center in Halol. The role focuses on supporting contract engineering activities, creating full product assemblies in the system, and preparing BOMs per customer requirements.

You will design schematics and wiring diagrams, develop new features, validate via prototypes and testing, and contribute with LV/MV switchgear expertise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical/Mechanical or similar role and industry.
• Min. 5 years of experience in switchgear design.
• Knowledge of MV Switchgear, RMUs, busway designing and LV/MV applications.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute contract activities within specified timeline.
• Issue drawings and BOM using Lucy CAD system.
• Design parts and assemblies with cost-conscious approach.
• Build prototype to validate new requirements before design.
• Prepare schematics and wiring per customer requirements.
• Provide data to configurator team for feeding into configurator.

Job Purpose

The main purpose of the role is to support contract engineering activities. This will include creation of full product assembly in system, preparation of BOM as per customer requirement, preparation of schematics & wiring diagram, design & development of new features, validation by prototype and testing. The job holder will bring his professional expertise and knowledge in all aspects of LV/MV Switchgear.

Key Accountabilities

• Plan and execute the allocated activities of contracts within specified timeline.
• Follow design processes developed by Lucy engineering team, issue drawings, and bill of material using the Lucy CAD system.
• Design parts and assemblies keeping cost to a minimum and without compromising quality.
• Arrange to build the prototype to validate new requirements before implementing in design.
• Prepare schematics and wiring as per customer requirement.
• Provide the required data to configurator team for feeding to configurator.

Job Context

The position is responsible for executing contract related activities defined through configurator once a contract is awarded. Working as a key member within the team, the individual collectively executes all necessary activities to maintain, improve and optimize customer requirements, considering commercial and profitability aspects. Responsible for prototype trials to validate new requirements.

Qualifications, Experience, & Skills

Qualifications

Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical/Mechanical or similar role and industry, knowledge about MV Switchgear, RMUs, busway designing, application engineering of LV/MV Switchgear.
