Job summary

CNH India is seeking a design engineer to innovate and mature products for the tractor and Agri- machinery segments. You will design parts, subsystems and complete aggregates, conduct analyses for cost, reliability and manufacturability, and lead design reviews with a cross-functional team.

The role emphasizes design release timing, collaboration with other engineering groups, and delivering inputs for both new and current product platforms.

Qualifications

• Graduate engineers: 10+ years in product development with minimum 5 years in Compact Tractors.
• Diploma holders: 15+ years in design and development.
• Experience in a cross-functional environment; preference for tractor industry.

Responsibilities

• Execute new product projects and current products, designing parts, subsystems and systems.
• Conduct design analysis to ensure cost efficiency, manufacturability and reliability.
• Expert in DFMEA, DMU, ECO creation and other design tools.
• Conduct design reviews with cross-functional teams.
• Ensure design release timing, quality and cost.
• Coordinate with other engineering personnel to assure project completion.
• Manage complete design release process in TC for prototype and production.
• Provide inputs to Platform on new and current products.
• Develop engineering project plans with milestones aligned to main project plan.
• Work with cross-functional team to ensure design is workable per KPI.
• Serve as interface/coordinator in addition to design engineer responsibilities.

Job Purpose

Design new products and processes. Improving and maintaining existing products.Work is primarily achievedby an individual. Requiring application of expertise in technical areas to achieve results. Progression withinclassification is reflected by increasing depth of professional knowledge, and ability to influence others. Workin global environment with other engineering and manufacturing locations.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute new Products projects and Current Products for complete aggregate and or a part of aggregate.This involves design of parts, subsystems and systems.
• Conduct design analysis on components and/or assemblies to assist in the development process byensuring designs are cost efficient, manufacturable, and reliable.
• Expert in DFMEA, DMU, ECO creation and other design tool.
• Conduct Design review with cross functional team.
• Ensure design release timing, quality and cost.
• Communicate with the other engineering personnel to coordinate the interrelated design and assureproject completion.
• Manage complete design release process in TC for prototype and production.
• Provide inputs to Platform on new products and Current products.
• Develop Engineering design project plan along with milestones to synchronize with main project plan forthe product; Review sub-module detailed plans and suggest modifications as required.
• Work with cross functional team to gather inputs and ensure that design is workable as per KPI.
• Taking role of Interface /coordinator in addition to his core responsibility as design engineer for his verticalwhere the PD organization can leverage his expertise over a period.

Experience Required

• For Graduate engineers- 10+ years of experience in product development with minimum 5 years of experienceon Compact Tractors (India, Europe, USA) For Diploma 15+ years of experience in design and development.
• Worked in a cross functional environment. Preference given to candidate from Tractor Industry with experienceon vehicle and structural parts.

Preferred Qualifications

Engineering/Diploma in Mechanical or Agricultural engineering
