Job summary

Tata AutoComp is seeking an experienced CAD design engineer to lead seating system development in UGNX and CATIA V5. You will manage data in PLM, create 3D/2D drawings, and drive design reviews on schedule.

Collaboration with cross-functional teams will be essential to ensure compliance with automotive seating standards and safety regulations. The role requires smooth coordination of PLM processes, effective communication, and the ability to generate robust design solutions for production

Qualifications

• 3-5 years design experience in complete Seat and integration.
• Strong knowledge of Automotive Seating System.
• Awareness of AIS, FMVSS, ECE, EURONCAP regulations for interior materials.

Responsibilities

• CAD design and development of seating system components in UGNX and CATIA V5.
• PLM change management (data management and release).
• Proposal creation, 3D/2D creation, review, discussions.
• Planning drawing creation for safety, comfort, environment.
• 3D ASM integration.
• Ensure data is up to date and reflects required maturity.
• PLM Teamcenter handling for release processes.
• Provide CAD support and lead design progressing against program timescales.
• Generate master sections.
• Check clearance to interface parts.
• Support pre-production builds (virtual and physical).
• Ability to work with kinematics & DMU tools.
• Ensure all project deliverables are met on time.

Job description

Role & responsibilities:

• 3-5 Years of good design experience in complete Seat and integration
• Strong Knowledge of Automotive Seating System
• Experience and awareness of AIS, FMVSS, ECE, EURONCAP, regulations applicable for vehicle collision, Interior Impact, and flammability of interior materials.
• Engineering feasibility check of styling surface.
• Hands on experience on surfacing/solid modeling/Drawing creation in CAD / UGNX/CATIA software.
• Understanding of the design tools like DFMEA, and DFM-DFA.
• Knowledge of GD&T application on plastic parts & tolerance stack-up analysis

Good presentation and communication skills.

Preferred candidate profile:

• Be responsible for the CAD design and development of Seating system components in UGNX and CATIA V5
• PLM Change management (Data Management and Release).
