Job summary

Regal Rexnord is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer in Hyderabad for a hybrid role, onsite with remote flexibility. You will create solid models and drawings, support seals, bearings, EMAs, and other aerospace products, and perform load calculations with attention to detail.

The candidate should have 2–3 years of experience, BE/B.Tech in mechanical engineering with at least 70%, and strong CAD skills across SolidWorks, Inventor, CREO or CATIA.

Qualifications

• BE/B.Tech in mechanical engineering with minimum 70% marks.
• 2–3 years of experience in mechanical design or related area.
• Knowledge of 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, Inventor, CREO and CATIA is preferred.
• Ability to create and interpret drawings per ASME Y14.5-2009 standards.
• Exposure to machining processes a plus and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Create solid models and drawings in CAD; maintain ECNs and product definition packages.
• Support design and development of mechanical seals, bearings, tooling, EMAs and other aerospace products.
• Perform load calculations for mechanical systems and use hand calculations when data is missing.
• Maintain BOMs and product databases; participate in Lean initiatives.
• Collaborate in a multi-disciplinary team and deliver high-quality outputs on time.
• Assist in problem solving with attention to detail and data accuracy.

Work Model: You’ll work in a hybrid model, onsite at your designated Regal Rexnord location, with flexibility to work remotely.

Description Key Accountabilities

• Create solid models, drawings in SolidWorks and ECN’S. Support the development of product validation packages.
• Under the guidance of engineers, support the design & development of mechanical seals, bearings, tooling, electromechanical actuators (EMAs) and other Rexnord Aerospace products with a basic understanding of design tools and methods and analysis methods.
• Should be good at load calculations in mechanical systems.
• The candidate should be resourceful in the absence of missing data and seek/look for ways to get them. Should have experience in arriving at design data through hand calculations.
• Create and maintain product definition packages, solid models, drawings and ECN’S.
• Participate in Lean initiatives.
• Creates and maintains BOM's and product databases & records.
• Assists in solving basic problems with an aptitude for problem-solving skills. Qualifications Job requirements, Capabilities, and Success factors:
• Requires BE/ B. Tech in mechanical engineering from reputed engineering colleges with min 70% (7 CGPA) marks.
• 2 - 3 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Previous experience designing mechanical components is preferred.
• Knowledge of 3D Solid Modeling software such as SolidWorks, Inventor, CREO, and/or CATIA is preferred. Hands-on experience in SolidWorks is a plus.
• Ability to create and interpret drawings and specifications.
• Knowledge of Geometric dimensioning and Tolerancing (ASME Y14.5-2009 Std) and tolerance stack-up analysis.
• Understanding of design calculations and ability to give attention to details.
• Knowledge of metals and composites. A materials background is a plus.
• Exposure to machining process, heat treating, and/or grinding is a plus.
• High level of interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and advanced MS Excel skills.
• Excellent English communication and presentation skills.
• Capable of working within a team structure.
• Experience with Design of Experiments is preferred.
• Detail-oriented and self-motivated.
