Job summary

Miba in Pune is seeking a skilled mechanical design engineer with 4–7 years of experience to design SPMs and assemblies, manage PDM data, and ensure drawings meet GD&T standards.

You will work with cross‑functional teams, maintain ECN records, and migrate data in Autodesk Vault/Inventor, contributing to safer, cost‑effective, and manufacturable designs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering with 4-7 years' relevant experience in design engineering, CAD or PDM-related roles (preferred).
• Strong working knowledge of Autodesk Inventor & Autodesk Vault Professional.
• Understanding manufacturing processes. (Machining, welding, fabrication, surface and heat treatment)
• Knowledge of fabricated structures, sheet metal parts, machined components & welded assemblies.
• Sound knowledge of GD&T and drawing standards.
• Knowledge of FMEA and risk assessment to identify and mitigate design risks.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage/organize multiple tasks.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical systems, assemblies and components for SPMs.
• Maintain ECN, design record throughout the project life cycle (PLM).
• Ensure PDM system remains clean, structured, and up to date in accordance with internal standards for purchased parts and internal parts.
• Import and migrate data from legacy databases, validate same with accuracy and completeness after migration into the PDM system.
• Prepare 3D model, handling large assemblies and detailed manufacturing drawing with GD&T & appropriate design standards, creation of BOM using Autodesk Inventor.
• Perform basic engineering calculations related to strength, load and accordingly execute selection of purchase parts process.
• Ensure designs meet functional safety, quality and cost requirement.

Candidate should possess good mechanical engineering fundamentals, hands‑on knowledge of manufacturing processes and expertise in designing SPM, fabricated structures and assemblies.
