Job summary

Ricetec Machinery in Hyderabad is seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to design and develop rice milling machinery and food processing equipment. You will prepare 2D drawings and 3D models, develop assemblies, and coordinate with production, fabrication, purchase and quality teams to ensure cost-effective manufacturing.

The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of mechanical engineering, proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD, and experience with sheet metal design and tolerances.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components, machinery, and equipment used in rice milling and food processing.
• Prepare 2D engineering drawings and 3D models using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
• Develop assembly drawings, detailed part drawings, and fabrication drawings.
• Prepare Bills of Materials (BOMs) with component specifications and material details.
• Understand customer requirements and convert them into suitable engineering designs.
• Select appropriate materials, bearings, motors, gearboxes, belts, pulleys, and other mechanical components.
• Ensure designs meet functional, dimensional, safety, and manufacturing requirements.
• Coordinate with production and fabrication teams to resolve design-related issues.
• Modify existing designs based on production feedback, customer requirements, and engineering improvements.
• Support the development of new machines and improvement of existing machinery.
• Coordinate with the purchase department regarding technical specifications and component requirements.
• Conduct design checks and assist in troubleshooting mechanical problems during assembly and testing.
• Maintain updated engineering drawings, revision records, and design documentation.
• Follow company quality standards, design procedures, and project timelines.
• Support installation and service teams by providing technical drawings and design-related solutions when required.

• Knowledge of rice milling machinery or food processing equipment is an added advantage.

5. Preferred Candidate Profile

Candidates with experience in machinery manufacturing, industrial equipment, fabrication, material handling systems, or food processing machinery will be preferred. Freshers with strong SolidWorks skills and sound mechanical engineering fundamentals may also be considered.
