Job summary

FMC Technologies India Pvt Ltd in Hyderabad seeks a mechanical design engineer with 3–8 years of experience in oil and gas or similar design-heavy industries. You will create layouts, drawings and specifications using CAD tools like Pro/E and UG, and work with databases such as TCE/Intralink.

You will interpret technical information, suggest design improvements, and contribute to the full product development lifecycle from concept through testing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s/Master’s/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• 3 to 8 years of design experience in oil and gas or design-heavy machinery.
• Working knowledge of CAD packages like Pro/E, UG.
• Experience with database software such as TCE and Intralink.
• Ability to interpret and prepare technical information and suggest design changes.
• Knowledge of the complete product development cycle including concept, calculation, detailed engineering, and testing.

Responsibilities

• Creates basic designs, drawings, DBIs, specifications following engineering principles.
• Uses CAD and database systems to create layouts, analyze designs and generate equipment designs.
• Consults with other departments on equipment design and problems and proposes solutions.
• Tests and evaluates products to determine design limits and improvements and prepares reports.
• Prepares reports, correspondence, procedures, specifications and calculations.
• Assists and checks the work of drafters, designers, and junior engineers.
• May assist in cost estimates and participate in standardization projects.

• Ability to read, interpret and prepare applicable technical information & suggest design/process changes to ensure simple, functional and cost effective results.
• Should have knowledge of Complete Product Development Cycle including tasks like concept generation, classical calculation, detailed engineering & testing.

Job Description:

• Using CAD and database systems, facilitates to make layouts, analyze designs, evaluate equipment systems and generate new equipment design.
• Consults with other department on equipment design, problems andquestions. Identifies root cause of technical problems and proposes solutions
• Tests and evaluates products to determine design limits and needed improvements. Prepares test reports and closure reports on engineering project assignment.
• Prepare reports, correspondence, procedures, specifications and technical calculations.
• Assists and checks the work of drafters, designers, and less experienced engineers.
• May assist in cost estimates. May participates in product and process standardization projects.
