Job summary

ALTEN India seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer to create 3D part designs parametrically in Catia V5/3DX for casting and plastic injection molded parts used in Brain Division automotive products. You will prepare constrained sketches, apply GD&T, conduct tolerance stackups with 3DCS, generate drawings, and manage data in PLM while ensuring DFMA compliance.

Qualifications

• 4–5 years of design experience in the automotive industry.
• BE/B.Tech Mechanical Engineering degree required.
• Experience with CATIA V5/3DX for part design and CAD data creation.

Responsibilities

• Parametric 3D part design in CATIA V5/3DX for casting and injection molded parts.
• Prepare constrained sketches and perform Boolean operations.
• Create drawings/3DFTA and GD&T compliant documentation.
• Perform tolerance stackup analyses using 3DCS DVM/VA.
• Support DFMA studies for manufacturability.
• Coordinate data management in PLM and ensure on-time delivery.
• Work on Brain division automotive products including vision, sensors, and ECUs.
• Ensure designs meet manufacturing processes and measurement requirements.

Job description

3D Part design parametrically in Catia V5/3DX for Casting and Plastic Injection molded parts

• Parametric 3D model preparation using constrained Sketches and Boolean operation with Inner / outer methodology
• Working in Product structure using multi-Skeleton methodology
• Detailed Part design as per the design standards, following Design for manufacturing (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA) requirements
• Drawing / 3DFTA creation for series production
• Detailed drawings creation with GD&T considering Manufacturing process and measurement techniques
• Tolerance Stackup using 3DCS DVM/VA
• Self-check designs to rectify CAD quality , DFM and DFA issues and correct before delivery
• Thermal management for the Brain division products (Design of heat sinks and thermal dissipating components )
• Data management in PLM
• Ensure task compilation within agreed billable efforts and time

Able to work on part modeling related to the automotive products of passenger car: Brain Division

• Vision Product line - Viewing Camera, Surround view ECU
• Detect Product line - Ultrasonic sensors, Radars, Front camera'
• Cockpit Product Line - Headup Display, 4W Passenger car Display (in instrument cluster)
• Compute Product Line - Domain controllers, Zonal controllers and Large compute electronic control units (ECU)

Education: Mechanical Engineering Graduate - BE/B.Tech

• 4 – 5 years of design experience in the automotive industry
