Job summary

Oceaneering is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer in India to design devices, assemblies, or systems per customer specs. You will handle concept creation, detailed design, validation and documentation to meet technical requirements while ensuring timely, high-quality deliverables under supervision.

Responsibilities include studying inputs, designing equipment, refining designs, interpreting standards, performing tolerance analyses, and maintaining PLM/PDM updates.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with 3–5 years experience.
  • SolidWorks/PLM/PDM proficiency required.
  • Basic knowledge of AutoCAD and calculation tools.
  • Familiarity with mechanical codes/standards (ASME, etc.).
  • MS Office proficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Study inputs (drawings, CAD models, technical documents) for a product/design.
  • Evaluate inquiries and study inputs for engineering scope.
  • Design equipment to match specifications: concept, detailed design, drawings, BOM, docs.
  • Refine designs and develop new solutions.
  • Perform tolerance stack-up analysis.
  • Adhere to engineering processes and update PLM/PDM systems.
  • Communicate progress to customers and ensure on-time, quality deliverables.
  • Contribute to improving engineering processes.

Position Summary
JOB DESCRIPTION

Design and develop products -devices, assemblies, or systems- based on customer specifications and technical inputs. Handle concept creation, detailed design, validation, and documentation to meet all technical requirements. Ensure timely, high-quality deliverables while following standards and supporting continuous improvement under general supervision.

Responsibilities
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Study inputs available (drawings, cad models, technical documents) for a product / design
  • Evaluate customer inquiries & specifications and study all inputs available for a product or engineering scope
  • Design equipment to match specifications; includes concept creation, detailed design, design calculations, manufacturing drawings, bill of materials and product related technical documents
  • Refine and improve product designs by evaluating current designs and developing new solutions
  • Interpret & use industry codes & standards relevant to product being designed
  • Perform tolerance stack-up analysis of simple problems
  • Handle the technical changes and updates in PLM/PDM systems
  • Understand and comply to established engineering processes
  • Communicate regular progress updates to customer
  • Ascertain engineering deliveries with required quality, within schedule
  • Contribute to improving existing engineering processes.
Required
QUALIFICATIONS

Graduation (bachelor's degree) in Mechanical Engineering. with 3 to 5 years of experience

Desired
  • Intermediate to Expert level user of Solid works and PLM/PDM software
  • Basic knowledge of AutoCAD & any calculations software
  • Familiarity with Mechanical industry codes/standards (e.g.; ASME, DNV, API, AISC etc.)
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
