Job summary

SGF Fab Industries invites a Design Engineer to join our team in Bengaluru. The role focuses on design, drafting, detailed drawings, BOM/BOQ, and planning for crane/hoist, PEB, heavy fabrication projects.

You will prepare GAD and detailed assemblies, support production, and assist in project planning through dispatch and commissioning. The candidate should have a BE in Mechanical Engineering and 2+ years of experience, with proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA, and MS Office.

Qualifications

• BE in Mechanical Engineering is mandatory
• 2+ years of experience in design and drafting
• Experience with GAD, BOM/BOQ, and IS/DIN/ASME standards preferred
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks required

Responsibilities

• Prepare GAD drawings and detailed assembly/sub-assembly drawings with BOM/BOQ using AutoCAD and SolidWorks
• Provide optimized design with BOM/BOQ and perform basic ANSYS analysis for structures and components
• Coordinate with electrical design and costing for detailed estimation and order winning
• Support production with technical drawings and resolve fabrication/integration issues
• Plan and coordinate with planning/purchase to optimize design and resources
• Assist project planning and ensure on-time delivery and installation support

POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are looking for a skilled Design Engineer with experience in design, drafting, detailed drawing and planning with BOM within the crane/hoist, PEB, heavy fabrication industry. The candidate will be responsible for preparing GAD, then detailed assembly, sub assembly drawings and part/ component level drawings, component selection, component drawings, BOM/ BOQ, technical drawings, supporting production and planning teams, and assisting in project planning and execution till the dispatch and installation and commissioning.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: DESIGN & DRAFTING

• Prepare technical GAD drawings, fabrication layouts, then after customer approval, detailed assembly, sub assembly drawings and part/ component level drawings, BOM/ BOQ, technical drawings using AutoCAD and SolidWorks.

• Provide optimised design with BOQ / BOM and also knowledge of ANSYS for analysis of all structure and components.

• Coordination with Electrical Design and costing engineer for detailed optimised costing and estimation to win orders.
• Knowledge in depth of estimation vs actual costing for every order.
• Provide design clarifications and technical support to the planning and production team
• Review drawings, specifications, and project requirements in detail with up to date IS, DIN, ASME, Standard etc., and accordingly comply with and prepare the detailed documentation and drawings for approval with customer.

PRODUCTION SUPPORT

• Support the production team with necessary technical drawings and modifications if required.

• Assist in resolving technical issues during fabrication, assembly, sub assembly, testing and pre dispatch inspections and dispatch inspections as per customer requirements and standards.

PLANNING COORDINATION

• Coordinate with the planning and purchase department to ensure optimised design and minimum resource utilisation

• Assist in project execution, planning and time scheduling to meet delivery targets as per customer and site requirements.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• BE in Mechanical Engineering (Mandatory)

• 2+ Years of experience
