Role Summary
The Design Engineer is responsible for the design, modeling, and detailing of mechanical components and assemblies using PTC Creo, with a strong emphasis on sheet metal design and GD&T. The role involves working closely with crossfunctional teams to deliver manufacturable, costeffective, and highquality engineering solutions that meet functional and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop 3D parts and assemblies in PTC Creo, including sheet metal components
- Create manufacturingready 2D drawings with accurate GD&T (ASME/ISO standards)
- Perform part and assemblylevel design with focus on manufacturability and serviceability
- Maintain BOMs, revisions, and design documentation with proper version control
- Support design reviews, DFMEA, prototypes, and engineering changes
- Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and procurement teams to resolve design issues
- Ensure quality, accuracy, and compliance of all design deliverables
- Drive design optimization, cost reduction, and continuous improvement initiatives
Technical Skills
- Proficient in PTC Creo (Parametric) Part, Assembly, Sheet Metal, Drawing modules
- Strong knowledge of Sheet Metal Design principles and manufacturing processes
- Handson experience with GD&T (ASME Y14.5 / ISO)
- Good understanding of mechanical design fundamentals, fits, tolerances, and materials
- Experience in modeling, detailing, and BOM management
