Must have skills required:
- Siemens NX, SolidWorks, CATIA, ANSYS, DFM, DFA, DFMEA
Rekise Marine is Looking for:
Rekise Marine is building autonomous ships and submarines that operate in the world's most hostile environments. We're executing India's flagship autonomous submarine project - the Jalkapi XLAUV - on order from the Indian Navy. We're looking for a Design Engineer to own end-to-end mechanical design of sub-assemblies across our autonomous surface and underwater vessel platforms.
What You'll Do
- Own the full design lifecycle of sub-assemblies - from ideation and concept development through 3D modeling, FEA analysis, vendor coordination, QC sign-off, and assembly guidance
- Create detailed 3D models and manufacturing-ready 2D drawings using Siemens NX CAD (preferred) or equivalent tools (SolidWorks, CATIA), applying DFM, DFA, and DFMEA principles
- Perform feasibility studies and stress analyses using ANSYS or equivalent simulation tools to validate designs before production
- Select appropriate materials accounting for harsh underwater conditions - depth ratings, pressure tolerances, surface treatments, corrosion resistance
- Coordinate with procurement and external CNC vendors - brief tolerance requirements, review fabricated components, and sign off on incoming QC reports
- Work alongside naval architects, electrical engineers, and software engineers in a tightly integrated 13-person mechatronics team
- Guide technical assistants during assembly using 2D drawings and hands-on direction
Must-Have Requirements
- 3+ years of hands-on mechanical design experience in an R&D or product development environment
- Proficiency in a 3D CAD tool - Siemens NX strongly preferred; SolidWorks or CATIA acceptable with willingness to ramp on NX
- Experience designing products from scratch - not ECN/ECR maintenance or assembly-line modifications
- Ability to produce manufacturing-ready 2D drawings independently with strong GD&T knowledge
- Working knowledge of FEA simulation (ANSYS or equivalent) - 20-30% of the role involves analysis
- Background in electro-mechanical or mechatronic systems - robotics, aerospace, automotive, AGVs, space, or similar moving-product domains
- Experience applying DFM / DFA / DFMEA principles independently, not just within a large structured team
- Demonstrated ownership - has led or owned a sub-system or sub-assembly end-to-end
Good to Have
- Siemens NX as primary day-to-day tool with PLM experience
- 0-to-1 product journey at a startup - from R&D through production and delivery to end users
- Defense or aerospace domain experience
- Hands-on building background - college robotics clubs, Formula Student / BAJA SAE, or similar
- Exposure to underwater or marine systems, pressure vessel design, or buoyancy engineering
- Material selection experience for harsh or extreme environments
Education
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Production Engineering, or a related field
Why Join Rekise Marine
- Real ownership from day one - you'll be responsible for entire sub-assemblies, not incremental changes
- Mission-critical work - your designs go into an active Indian Navy programme; the Jalkapi XLAUV sea trials are imminent
- Startup pace, defence rigour - fast decisions, low hierarchy, high accountability
- Cutting-edge tools - Siemens NX, ANSYS, and full PLM stack
