Job summary

Texmaco Nymwag Rail & Components Private Limited is seeking a Design and Development leader to oversee all activities, drive new designs from concept to prototype, and ensure on-time, on-budget delivery. The role requires leading a team of designers and engineers and coordinating cross-functional departments.

You will guide SBU level teams on operational changes, implement efficient design processes, and maintain documentation while ensuring compliance with industry standards.

• Oversee and manage all design and development activities within the company.
• Enable new designs from concept to prototypes through to finished products ready for manufacture.

• Manage design activities including DFMEA/PPAP/DV&PV testing and approvals.
• Present design, costs, changes and budgetary information to senior members/customers.
• Liaise with departments to understand design requirements.
• Manage customer relationships and handle inquiries related to design and development.
• Provide technical support to manufacturing, sales and customer service departments.

Job Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage all design and development activities within the company.
• Enable new designs from the concept stage to the development of prototypes through to finished products ready for manufacture.
• Ensure design projects are completed on time and within budget.
• Lead and manage a team of designers and industrial engineers.
• Guide SBU level design & development team on operational changes.
• Implement design processes and best practices to improve efficiency and quality.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure design requirements are met.
• Conduct research and development to stay current with industry advancements.
• Maintain design and development documentation.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Lead the team to create a range of 3D models for several proposal/production and development systems, products, and components using CAD.
• Responsibility for the management of all Design activities including Request for Design freeze/release, Design Failure Mode Effect Analysis (DFMEA), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Design Verification/Product Validation (DV & PV) testing.
• Present design, costs, changes and budgetary information effectively to senior members and customers and provide regular progress updates.
• Liaise closely with all departments to fully understand design requirements.
• Manage customer relationships and handle customer inquiries related to design and development.
• Provide technical support to manufacturing, sales and customer service departments.
