Job summary

JobItUs is seeking a Design Coordinator – Architecture in Mumbai to drive design coordination across all project stages. You will work with architects, structural and MEP consultants, review drawings for quality and compliance, and manage submissions and approvals.

The role demands strong communication, coordination, and attention to detail within large redevelopment or new-build projects. You will also brief consultants, finalize contracts, and ensure design development aligns with site

Qualifications

• Experience in residential and commercial projects; high-rise residential/commercial project experience.
• Proficiency in architectural drawings, detailing, specifications and building regulations; basic knowledge of DC rules.
• Exposure to redevelopment projects and working with international consultants is advantageous.

Design Coordinator – Architecture

Location: Mumbai

Key Responsibilities

Design Coordination & Documentation

• Manage architectural design coordination across all project stages.
• Coordinate with architects, structural, MEP and other consultants.
• Review drawings for quality, technical accuracy, compliance and constructability.
• Manage drawing submissions, revisions, approvals, GFC drawings and documentation.
• Resolve design conflicts, RFIs and site-related technical queries.
• Drive value engineering and ensure design-to-site consistency.
• Monitor design schedules, consultant deliverables and project milestones.
• Maintain drawing registers, revision records and digital design documentation.

Consultant Briefing & Appointment

• Brief potential consultants and evaluate various consultant quotes; finalize the consultant along with management.
• Freeze the terms and conditions of the contract.
• Give a detailed brief to the consultant, and visit the site along with the consultant to clarify expectations (including the landscape consultant).
• Finalize the work order with all consultants.

Concept & Schematic Design

• Finalize concept design and schematic design.
• Finalize sales specifications along with the MD.
• Provide inputs on local specifications to the international consultant.

Marketing Inputs

• Coordinate for content for all marketing collateral.
• Coordinate with interiors and landscape for their inputs on the look.

Design Development

• Track and monitor preparation of final working / construction drawings by consultants, including structural design prepared by the external consultant.
• Take inputs from external consultants and internal departments such as engineering and interiors.
• Ensure that the construction drawings and structural drawings are in sync with each other.
• Issue the drawings to site.

Qualifications & Experience

• Experience in residential and commercial projects; high-rise residential / commercial project experience.
• Preferably experience in a large architect / developer firm and experience of handling international consultants.
• Strong knowledge of architectural drawings, detailing, specifications and building regulations; basic knowledge of DC rules.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office
• Exposure to redevelopment projects and statutory approval processes is an advantage.
