Job summary

A premier sustainable solid wood and timber engineering company is seeking a Design executive/manager to design and cost orders, ensuring customer requirements are met within estimated costs and profitability.

You will progress sales inquiries, support design to meet specs, prepare cost estimates, assess risks, and collaborate with sales and operations to release orders on time, while delivering ethical and aesthetic design solutions.

Qualifications

• Graduate/Diploma with expertise in using AUTOCAD or any design software.
• Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of costing.
• 1-2 years of experience in a similar industry.

Responsibilities

• Progress sales inquiries and establish customer requirements with the Sales team.
• Support Sales in design that meet customer specifications while being technically sound and commercially viable.
• Prepare cost estimates and profit margins for the order.
• Assess risk factors that may affect the design.
• Follow up with Sales and Operations to release orders on time.
• Provide ethical and aesthetic design solutions.
• Interact with operations team to resolve design issues at site.

Job Purpose To design and cost all orders to ensure that customer requirements are met within estimated costs and profitability.

Duties & Responsibilities

• To progress sales inquiries and to establish customer requirements in conjunction with the Sales team.
• To support sales in design that meet customer specifications while being technically sound and commercially viable
• To prepare cost estimates and profit margins for the order
• To access any risk factors that may affect the design
• Follow-up with sales and operations team for various inputs to release the order on time
• Provide ethical and aesthetic solutions
• Interaction with operations team to ensure all issues related to design specifications at site are resolved

Qualifications

• Graduate/Diploma with expertise in using AUTOCAD or any design software
• Strong communication, presentation and inter personal skills is a must
• Knowledge of costing
• 1 - 2 years of experience in a similar industry
